Herbrand Carriage forgings founded in 1881 in Fremont, Ohio; not a name many remember today but many years ago they were sold and used by many people in the automotive trade. With the advent of the Auto the company started growing and by the early 1920's they were supplying Western Auto & Montgomery Wards with their tools. Sadly their end came in in 1961 when they were sold to the Kelsey-Hayes Corporation; making it a big loss to the town of Fremont.

Matco sold that style wrench in the early 1990s. I had a set but gave them away.

My Herbrand tools aren't that old.

tappet wrench and three flare nut wrenches. Got the tappet wrench used in 1965 and bought the flare nut set in 1967.

In 1964, I bought this little gear puller from the parts house I worked for in High school. I've used it more than any other puller I own.

Sorry this came out over exposed. The two spring steel pieces swing open to adjust the jaw length.

This particular Herbrand set was a bit of a mystery to me. I figured this was just a hodgepodge of 1/4" pieces, carburetor tools and a big wrench... :headscrat

After a little research though, I was surprised find this as Herbrand's version of a carburetor tool set.

Lugs asked me to post this here (I think he meant this thread) It's am extension with a speeder handle, and apparently there may be two versions one without the flange on the male end mine has, and then like mine.
