ALL: I've been busy trying to set up my shop and buying tools and supplies seems to always get things shoved in my way instead of getting organized. i have several grinders and a baldor buffer and want to set them up with different wheels so i can get into a project and not have to change wheels in the middle of it. Anybody have a grinder or two or three or more set up with different wheels and want to show them off and maybe some projects you have done or are doing today?

i'd like to see other members set ups and have them describe which wheels they use and why. i'd also like to see something they repaired, made or just shined up using these great tools. Old Bench grinders, belt grinders, hand grinders are all great tools. please post up as much information about the machine/tool you know or can read off the label and what wheels you are using. also say where is a good place to buy them if you remember or know of one.

here's a picture of a few of my grinders i own that are waiting for me to set them all up.

show yours either set up or that you own and let's show the projects we improve by using them.

I've got a 1/3hp on the same stand as you have pictured in the top right photo. It's in the storage area out in the shop. I'll try and get some pics later. No stands for the 1/4, 1/2 and 1/2 commercial yet. The vintage Craftsman stands are almost harder to find than the grinders.

Well, I didn't do this today, but I did do a few weekends ago when it was a little warmer. It's also way too cold to get better pictures. This is the work of the "BlockMeister". The dynamic jaw on my Prentiss No. 19 (the longest vise restoration in history) was uneven and had broken jaws. So, after a quick order to KMScott, I needed to fit them to this old piece of iron.

I don't have a before picture, but here is the after:

Also did the same to my Wilton 9300:

All of this was done on the contact wheel by holding the clamped, assembled, vise up to the belt. Couldn't do that with an 8-incher, I realize, but I took my time and it did the job.

Next up is some cleanup on the Prentiss and then finish the japanning - someday. ;)
