Hi guys I picked up these two ratchets in the past week. The first one is a 3/8" drive Cat brand ratchet but bears no brand name, only a number. The second is a 1/2" drive industrial finish with rubber handle and only a part number as well.
Ironically both appear to be 1963 with the backwards "E" date stamp as far as I can tell. I thought it quite neat that the pair were found in the same week.

I was thinking the long ratchet was from a Greenlee knockout tool setup but not so sure as the handle isn't green with the brand name Greenlee. The fact that it has GB in the part number makes me think Gardner Bender instead. Any input on which is right?

Anyways, I thought I'd share my finds here.

There are a lot of SO rebrands. I have seen the Cat rats before, there are several types of SO Cats. Not sure of the other one.

Kind of close, I know what you mean but it's definitely not a Wright tootsie roll handle. I wonder if it was a green handle and got replaced?

Snapmom, I thought you'd recognize that one. I saw one of your CAT rats on the web. Very strange no name on them like today's models.
Greenlee.

Score!

lbgradwell says.... Greenlee!

Did you get that 1/2" ratchet at an estate sale off Cleveland Drive ? If so, you beat me too it by minutes.

Yes. Ken I think I know who you are now, you have that Garage Journal vibe about you. I just beat another big tool buyer who is a Snap On collector. He came in and was eyeballing my finds too.

I have the same exact long handle ratchet and was told here in the past it was made by Snap On for Greenlee.

Cool, thanks for the info SCscoutguy.

Had to add this picture I came across. This verifies what you guys said about the brand being Greenlee and satisfies my curiosity about the handle grip, as many have a labeled, green hand grip.
