Pretty sure everyone's seen a few Mossberg tools in their travels. They are some of the original socket wrenches made from pressed steel.
Well, I stumbled across this neat Mossberg letter opener at an antique mall a couple weeks ago. I went back the other day to get it and there's a little story with it. Outside the store an older gentleman was digging a walk path in the snow with his cane, trying to get up on the not shoveled sidewalk. I struck up a quick conversation with him about the mess of snow and asked if he needed a hand. He said thanks anyway and kept at it.
First thing I did was go for another item in the store that I was after. Then I headed down the aisle with the letter opener and as I approached the display case, that man from outside was standing in front of the next case over adding items to it. I asked if the other case was his and sure enough it was. Told him I was there for the letter opener. He looked at it and it was marked $13.50 firm. He told me I could have it for $10. We went on to have some good conversation about all the old stuff we like and he was a cool guy.
So I guess the moral of the story is you never know you are talking to.
I thought this piece was too cool:
