Well thanks to this site, i finished going through my garage today and cleaning it up - so heres a few shots. The garage is 1200' and the shop currently under construction (when time permits) is 1200' of which 500' of it is for an office.

The cabinets in the garage I built myself for $550.00. My cabinet guy for the house got me all the MDF at his pricing. On the one wall with the diamond plate I bought another set of the most common tools I use around the house so I don't have to dig in my tool box every time!

Heres the garage from the outside looking in

From the inside looking out

The inside - below the 24 and 48 car you will see three speakers. The garage is wired for surround sound and a projector with a pull down screen that will go in front of the the 24 and 48 car.....

Here is how I hid my air compressor, I cut two holes, one in the door, and one down low on the side to allow air to it, then added filter mesh as a barrier

My truck parked in and the attic access - i JUST finished laying the wood - note to self - it is MUCH easier to do this when it is framed!

And finally here is my shop. I will get more pictures of it later this week. All I have left to do is drywall then brown coat and color coat on the stucco. I put scissor trusses inside so I will be able to put in my 2-post BendPak lift :) I will have 3" of clearance when it is in....

I agree with Ryan. More pictures of the shop please.

Really like your garage floor. Deep expansion joints. I don't think cracking will be a problem.

Real nice shop...flag is displayed backwards & actually should be properly burned instead of displaying....but, nice shop otherwise.

Oh dang - your right - stars always upper left! Thank you! But it won't go anywhere - there's a long story behind it and where it has been.....thanks again. And yes, i will get some more pics of the shop this weekend and post them.

Very nice!

As for the license plate, I generally find it wise not wear my politics or religion on my sleeve.

I love this garage! I'm anxious to see more pics of it and the shop.

As much as I love the garage, I LOVE that CA license plate even more!

Andersen, I'm in Elk Grove near Sacramento. What part of CA are you in?

Man - I love all that space! Very nicely done.

If you have construction and framing pics, please post them!!

You did an awesome job.

What was the cost per square foot to complete? Not trying to pry, I am just interested to know a rough number.....

Really nice looking garage.

One question, where did you get the recharging station/hanger for the cordless drill that is hanging on the diamond plate wall? I was just going to build one but if something like that could be bought for the right price I would do that instead. Thanks in advance.

Great set-up. Love the compressor in the cabinet with an air reel right next door. Do you throw a pizza tin under the petcock when you drain or pull the whole thing out?

Very nice and some great ideas incorporated into it.
Have you had problems in the past with the floor paint sticking to your tires?

since they use petroleum to make tires it leaves brown tread patterned stains on painted floors

Very nice !!! The windows really let the light in and brighten it up. Looking forward to more pics of the rear shop. What are your countertops made of? Laminate?

Hey there SWA! I live in Arroyo Grande - its a nice 84 degrees on the beach here today :)

Scott - thank you! I do have framing pics somewhere and I will try to locate them! I lucked out on our general - most construction is about $200 - $250 a foot here on the central coast - our contractor is on a referral basis only - I paid right at $100 a foot (House is 4200 - attached garage is 1200 - total of 5400).

Really nice looking garage.

I got it from diamondlifegear.com - i just looked and here is the link to the page they have them for ($13.50). It works GREAT!

Thats EXACTLY what i have is a pizza dish - every time I shut off the compressor and bleed it i just empty what ever moisture comes out down the sink!

chris<pixelmonkey>:D

Chris - yes i made the base cabinets also. They are 24" deep and the top cabinets are 16" deep (Get the most use out of my wood that way). And yes they are sitting on 2x4" frames - I didn't paint them when I made them (I know slacker). One of the jobs I am going to complete is tape off the floor and paint the base - looks cheap right now!) If you want - PM me and I will get you some more pics with measurements of the cabinets - they are rock solid!

Very nice and some great ideas incorporated into it.
Have you had problems in the past with the floor paint sticking to your tires?

Diesel - I used U-Coat-it and was pretty happy with it. I prepped the floor like a mad man, but had two spots (3" each) lift 1 week after it cured. I will say this much, when I do the shop floor - I will DEFINITELY use an epoxy base like Wolverine. There is no way the U-Coat-it will hold up like the Wolverine will in the shop!!!!

Very nice !!! The windows really let the light in and brighten it up. Looking forward to more pics of the rear shop. What are your countertops made of? Laminate?

Hey Kevin - yes they are just laminate that I had made. It works out great and cleans up well!!

And hey everyone - thanks for the feedback and comments. I promise I will add pictures of my "shop" project this weekend. I have to clean up the construction mess a bit inside - all of you people have given me a complex!!!

Nice. I don't usually like windows in a garage but your looks good with them.

Those cabinets are pretty high up there.

I assume you are/were a fireman. That explains your neat garage. When you live a third of your life in a glorified garage, you tend to like it clean. I love you garage, it's beautiful.

Hello everyone!! Sorry for the rapid disappearing act. I had a family medical emergency and now am back to a normal life! I'm picking things up where I left off, including finishing the shop - YEAH. I finished the electrical, low voltage and am getting the color coat on the stucco tomorrow. I will take pictures and get them posted.

For those of you that requested information, pics, etc. I apologize for not getting back to you, but I was a bit pre-occupied. For anyone that wants info. let me know and I will get it to you this time :)

Hello,

Is the garage attached to your house? I'm considering to build a large 3 car garage and american style house to Finland. It would be very nice to see few pictures of your house also. Every house here is scandinavian design so a american styled house would be awesome way to get every neighbour jealous! :)

Thanks

-Sami

Sami,

Due to the local CCR's I could not build a "shop", it has to resemble more of a residence. It is 1200' of which 800 will be a shop and 400 a home office for me.

This is the main house with a 1200' garage (the photo's of the garage are the ones I initially posted above on this thread):

And this is a guest home with a 800' garage:

The shop I am finishing is to the left of the guest home. It is on five acres.

ZRX61 - No I wasn't - the guest home was taken from one end and the main home was taken from the far end of the guest home. They are about 100' apart from each other. :)

And LamDog - I am finding that out, especially when the family comes out to escape the East Coast humidity!!!! :headscrat
