Hey guys, just cleaned out my portable toolbox, thought you might be interested.

It is mostly comprised of spares from my main box but there's a fairly complete set of basic tools in there. If I know in advance what I'm going to be doing, I'll kit up a bag with more specific tools.

Holy ****! Nice set up. I like to see tools that actually look like they've seen service. But what the heck, I bet that thing when loaded could pull your arms out of their sockets -- so how heavy is that beast?
Cheers,
JimDon

I don't have a scale at the shop, but it is very heavy. I usually use a dolly to move it long distances around the plant.

Looking at the tools outside of the box it would appear you could never find anything, but seeing them inside it looks easy enough to get at anything.

Its not so bad for the side wings, the bottom of the main area can get a little cluttered, especially if you're looking for something at the bottom.

I assume since its a ut22 with the k suffix it's COO is China. How is the quality on the box? Can you tell it's an import?

The box is exceptional quality. I bought this one because the service mechanics at the local scrapyard use these on their service trucks and they hold up. Those guys could break a bowling ball with a feather.

I considered Facom, Hazet, and this box. I decided on this box because I could get it through my dealer cheap and it had a reputation of being durable.

There is as flange bent into both sides of the lid with a hole in each to padlock them together.

You can see the holes in the OP's second picture, near the open handles, just above the warning stickers.

It does have a padlock hole, although any thief with some intelligence will just steal the whole box and deal with the padlock later.

That is a nice setup for sure ! I can never find a toolbox that doesn't end up a cluttered mess, looks like the trays are just the right depth.

Nice setup. I use a UT22 also. Had mine about 20 years and going strong. Amazing what they'll hold. Mines constantly stuffed to the gills, but stuff is fairly accessible.
