Won't it all come back to the homeowner because of the prep work? You apply any good product to a piece of wet lumber, it's just going to fall off.

I just looked at the application instructions. There is alot of prep involved before you apply. I the one pic it's pulling off in sheets I bet was sealed and they didn't prep right.

Had a contractor, one that is very good, and he contacted Rustoleum for their directions on prep. He followed them to the T and the stuff pealed up big time. When we contacted Rustoleum, they offered no resistance but would only reimburse me for the paint. No labor. The know they have a bad problem but continue to sell the s#!*.

I have two neighbors who have the same problem.

Restore is ****

I've never been happy with any sort of Rustoleum product. They all **** as far as I'm concerned. I'm glad to see this.

Edit to add: I don't think Rustoleum should pay these people (lawyers I suppose) a billion dollars for this... but I think they (homeowners/contractors) should get a little bit to reimburse for the product that doesn't work.

Surprised so many people are blaming the user/applicator.

After that plastic piping fiasco, where all the different manufacturers blamed the plumbers for improper installation techniques ya think we might just question the manufacturers too?

This isn't the first time nor will it be the last where some bean counter decides to ship defective product, instead of owning up and stopping it. And in the end it doesn't matter cause the small guy will get pennies on the dollar, compared to the legal teams.

I haven't used the Restore product, but I've had excellent results with their regular line of paint products.

This is no surprise to me. Unfortunate for the people that have bought any of their product. Ever

....says the guy whose first post was:

"Hello all, I am new here and would like to contribute something that would probably help a lot of you out there. I am a consultant for a coating manufacturer in the US..."

So much for objectivity.

No wonder Ryan wants to shoot all you floor-blogging bastards.

Me working in the coatings industry has nothing to do with Rustoleum's **** product. I have an opinion and I can voice it. I am not selling anything on this forum.

There is a reason they're involved in this lawsuit... It isn't from having outstanding products. You can dislike me all you want, but their products are sub-par is most cases. I am not just talking flooring. I am talking all their other lines as well. I wonder why they're sold in big box stores for cheap. Hmm....

Good day
