I am thinking about pulling the trigger on a Model 40 Milwaukee, when my funds allow. Where are you guys ordering them from?

What kind of price do you have for the model 40. I just watched a you tube video that had them priced at $985 plus shipping but I don't know for sure where they got that price. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Both Model 20 and 40 are on back order everywhere I called. going directly to Milwaukee seems to be best price but also longest wait. I wish I could find one now my jack is on last leg and I do not want to put money in it. (Craftsman)

Nothing.. I spoke with a member a week ago or so via PM in regards to Milwaukee being back ordered, I was surprised, almost to the point where I thought maybe they were closing there doors. Of course maybe they are simply re-tooling or something
I bought my Model 20 about 3 or 4 years ago from Milwaukee. At that time, there was a several month wait (two, maybe three?). And the only thing they produce now is the Model 20 and Model 40 jacks.
Considering this, and the wait time mentioned by the others, if you really want one, it sounds like now is the time to get on the list. It may be Sept or so before you receive the jack, but I can assure you that it will be worthwhile. It is a very well made piece of equipment.

That would be terrible, two of their jacks are on my "list".
Milwaukee has a list of authorized repair facilties in every major city in USA....its on there Website.....I called the one in my city and got a model 20 for 200 rebuilt like brand new.....I kept calling every 3 months and a year later i got a model 40 for 300 rebuilt like brand new.....The guy told me he had just found out how much they were brand new but wouldnt raise price since we already shook hands and agreed on rebuild price....he said he was hoping i wouldnt show up and was gonna take it home or raise the price....owner operated businessn his dad owned before him

I first contacted Milwaukee Hydraulics at the beginning of February, as my Craftsman jack was not performing well either (in fact it was only used a handful of times for a few car repairs!). Basically got the same info as above. I was told at that time there was a lead time of a couple months and they'd have them available in April, maybe May. Put my name on the list for a Model 20, and started saving... Considered a Model 40, but it's a bit overkill for the vehicles I currently own, and at 140lbs, I'd have a terrible time when I move to a new place.
April came around, and I contacted them again and was told they'd now be available in May/Early-June. May came around, and was told they would be expecting it to be available in late June. They said they were having issues with a supplier (that was having manufacturing issues of some type or something, and were behind) that supplied a few of the gaskets used in the jack. Late-June came around and was told they were still having trouble with their supplier and weren't exactly sure when it'd be ready.
Got an email July 7 saying they finally received the required parts to continue building Model 20s. Called immediately and placed my order.
Just heard today that the jack was packaged up and shipped out. It's been a long time waiting, but I'm hopeful and excited that it'll have been worth the wait.
I was really disappointed at the quality of my Craftsman jack, and I'm sure this one won't let me down. I'm tired of buying stuff that breaks pre-maturely and is sub-par performance-wise along the way. Enough of the throw-away society of cheap jacks...I'm certain this one will last many years to come.
I just got my email the other day that my jack (model 20) will be ready July 23. After that i'll set up a time to go pick it up (i'm local, about 10 mins away). I will also stay on the list for the model 40, as I want one but funds are not there right now. She said she will hold me on the list until Oct 1, when there will be a price increase. I didn't ask how much, but hopefully by the end of fall i'll have both models. Right now i'm jack-less with them leaking all over the garage. After this i'll get my snap on I just picked up locally on CL sent out for an overhaul. Its not worth it to do it myself.

I've had my model 20 for a few months now and it is an absolute pleasure to use. Even the way it's packaged for shipping is beyond every other jack I've used/purchased. The wait from Milwaukee is long but once you get it you will agree that it was well worth it. The factory does have the best price.

Good to hear. I'm interested to see what this packaging is, i've heard that before. I was assuming its just strapped to a pallet? How much was the shipping charge? I suspect that might blow people out, but with a 4 month backorder they must be doing something right.
Was not on a wooden pallet. It was in a custom cardboard box that was assembled around the jack. The box could have been suspended in any position and the jack would not have moved, it was in there so securely. Honestly, just seeing the way it came packaged made me feel the pride the workers in the Milwaukee factory must have in what they build. The jack was so beautifully painted that I was reluctant to roll it accross the floor; I didn't want to mar the paint on the wheels. Then I just told myself that it's a tool and tools are meant to be used. Even the one piece handle is impressive. I can only describe the jack as "old world quality" and can't really remember any tool purchases which excited me so much. I don't need another Jack but when my sons do, I'll be buying them Milwaukees.

awesome, i'm excited to see it. I felt the same way when I went down to the Milwaukee Morgan Vise factory (only one of 3, I believe, vise manufacturers still made in USA) and bought one right off the shelf in the factory. Got a little tour and have since been back down there for a couple odds and ends, always great people with great pride making a quality product.
Call milwaukee directly, IIRC people report having the best price directly from them. I have an older model 20 that I had a few questions on and they were very helpful. I lust after a model 40
Milwaukee will sell direct? On all their products or just the floor jacks?
They only make like 3 products. The Model 20, 40, and the 101P (the trans jack/under hoist jack) and adaptors. Their website is old, they don't make the bottle jacks (I think they were rebranded us jack at one time) and the jack stands are discontinued. But yes, you can go down to the plant and pick it right up. Cash and carry, literally. Or they ship.

The 3200 Transmission Adapter is $447.00 plus shipping. If the Model 101P and 3200 are purchased together, the price is discounted 10% or $964.80 plus shipping.
Our Model 100 had arms for lifting bumpers on vehicles. The 101 had chains for lifting, and the 101P is a straight Post Jack. No arms, no chains. The 3200 Transmission Adapter fit all 3 models. We no longer manufacture the Model 100 and 101 jacks.
Price of the Model 101P Post Jack is $625.00 plus shipping. We do not stock this item, so their is usually a 2 week lead time from receipt of an order.

Sounds like Milwaukee has settled into a sustainable (and hopefully profitable) rate of production that allows them to effectively use their production facility and workforce without risking keeping a bunch of inventory on hand. Since they probable rely on other suppliers for castings and various other components, it's likely they bunch orders up in order to have economic order quantities from their suppliers. Could they turn out more products faster? Sure, but doing so might tax their production ability and put profits at risk. Better to have low rate and profitable production with a waiting time than lose another USA manufacturer.

Hmmm... think it may be time to get a model 20 ordered as I really like supporting local businesses and I am long overdue for a new jack

I just picked mine up today. Pulled up in front of the factory, the guy was waiting for me and loaded it into the back of the vehicle. I called 20 mins ahead. Hands down best jack i've ever owned. They told me prices go up Oct 1, so order soon. I'm definitely going to try and get a model 40 by then. The 20 is awesome, its pretty small yet heavy. The side plates are very thick. With the limited space I have it will do great. Some complain it doesn't pump up fast as opposed to the chi com imports that have a one pump to load, but I think it pumps up very quickly, only a couple strokes. Very happy about this purchase
The guy at the plant told me they source parts that sometimes take 2 months to get in and they finish the machining on site. They also work 4 days a week. They seem to be doing just fine for themselves, which is good. They obviously have the market on US jacks cornered now as they're the only ones left.
You Still have Weaver and Gray Manufacturing as 100% USA made (floor jacks), not trying to take anything away from Milwaukee, they produce a quality product.

Pricey.... Yes, but also a long frame Jack and Arguably one of the best hydraulic systems out there, add in the welded frame and ease of serviceability.
Jrobb/casestudies... did the $515 model 20 pricing include the 10% discount that is noted on their contact page? "Orders that reference this web page receive an automatic 10% discount *"

They finally returned my call from last week and it looks like the prices already jumped up as I was quoted $695 for the model 20... while I really like to support local/USA made products and businesses, that price is a bit too steep for a 2 ton jack.
