Elroy posted in thread #358797, the the quote below about submitting some Bahco side cutters to Williams for warranty consideration.
Elroy is pleased to report that his request for warranty was honored as these delivered today from Williams. These are NICE.
If the board please, Elroy would like to make a few technical observations. First off the packaging states "Made in Spain" where the original tools are clearly labeled "Made in Sweden". Notice the package also states SNA Europe / France. So it appears these tools are globally sourced and are truely World Class.
Now for the meat and potatoes. Refer to the photo of the original tool and notice which jaw broke. The broken jaw was the half that is located opposite the cutting edge. That jaw is under combined stresses during cutting and thus failed first. Look what engineering improvement has been implemented to the new tool to address these elevated stresses
Do you see it????
The right hand edge that pivots on the top jaw is thicker! This is the jaw half that sees the elevated stresses. The left hand jaw sees lower stress so it's thinner.
Yep WORLD CLASS.
These Bahco cutters are some damn nice tools. Yep, Elroys engineering observation is that Knipex's **** hind ***.

Considering the excellent warranty service that Elroy recently received on his Williams "slider"

Elroy made the effort to submit this Bahco for warranty just last week

Contacted Williams directly and spoke with Chris Lee. I understand Chris is Williams "warranty claims manager". Chris indicated that once a particular model is discontinued that the warranty stops as well.
We'll see about that as Elroy told Williams that he was not seeking an exact replacement. They were fully receptive to reving the tool upon delivery.
