Hey guys

Sorry for this rookie question, its properly been up 800 times, but couldnt find a thread about it.

But how do i put in a picture in my thread so its shown fullsize and not as a thumbnail or as an attachment? :)

Thanks in advance!

- Emil

why can't we insert pics from our hard-drive - using a pic site (flickr etc..) is not ideal.
It seems to be quite common on other forums ...
ie browse hardrive, select 4-5 pics and "insert"

... noob here so am I missing something?

That's what I do - easy peasy......in fact the best way to do it to me. But....be aware that if you link that same pic from here to another site, they won't be able to see it unless they're members of GJ - don't ask me how I know....

You can upload straight from your hard drive into a thread, but it will only show as a thumbnail in the thread until you click it, then it will open full size.

Like this....

Just make sure you resize to like 800X600 or it won't go, and the website does not automatically resize pics for you.

Like Dave mentions, you can attach pics into your thread.

yes thanks Nut - I saw the manage attachments etc... but it's not as simple/immediate as a properly inserted pic.

"Albums" on GJ are real handy if you often post from different devices which may not have access to all your pictures.
For example I commonly have 4 devices I use on the internet, 2 Android, 2 Windows machines.
Several of the forums I frequent allow you to build "albums" when you are posting. Here you need to do it separately then grab the code from your album.

I will frequently refer to "my shops" and think it is helpful to put in a picture to show the logistics

To build an album:
Go to user control panel
On the left go down to networking then “pictures & albums”
select add an album
fill out form, choose public or private, click submit
click to upload pictures
select pictures to upload from
upload

THEN to use that picture in a post you need to click on it and capture the BB code and put it in your post:

Speaking of uploading pictures, can't this forum offer the option to "insert inline".

That eliminates the little thumbnails that need to be clicked on to be seen or having to manually turn them into real inline images using IMG commands.
