My uncle recently asked me to help him sell two brake service machines he had in the corner of his garage, he said my grandfather gave them to him years ago and he never got around to setting them up. I imagine there are still people around that find a use for this type of equipment but I have only found a few for sale on the internet. My question is where should I try and sell these and approximately how much should I ask? Any responses appreciated. Thanks.

Lots of pre-war car restoration guys are looking for those riveters -- It's one of those tools that you seldom need, but are damn glad you have when you do.

I suggest you list it in Hemmings -- older specialty equipment sells well in that magazine.

Great pics!! Thanks

Only one correct place. Hemmings Motor news, bible to all things related to anything on wheels, old or new, foreign or domestic, 2 wheels or 4 wheels. Yup best place to start.

If that did not work I would be looking at something like the Early Ford V-8 Club of America, those guys are wild about this kind of stuff.

I know a guy who as recently as 15 years ago (if that is recent) was riveting new linings on big truck shoes and heavy equipment at his truck parts business. He did right well with it being able to reline oddball shoes quickly. You might have a local business already doing it and willing to have a back up machine.

What a find!

I'm not sure what they may be worth. If the price is right and picking them up wouldn't be too troublesome. I would consider purchasing them even though I already own a smaller version...
