Puma Air Compressors Good???

My local farm store has a 25% off coupon good through tomorrow. They have a Puma single stage 60 gal compressor for $549. After the 25% off it would be $412. I dont need any more than a single stage to meet my needs.

Does it sound like I should jump on this?

I have that compressor. It's served me well for over eight years. At the time I purchased the Puma it was the best deal I could find for a single stage 60 gal compressor. I have it running my blast cabinet without problem and have run my CP D/A sander without having to wait for the pump to catch up. A cheap HF quality die grinder will bog it down, but that will take a good long while, and by that time you'll probably be ready for a break anyway. My old CP die grinder never bogs it down.

The tank is US made and ASME certified. The motor on my unit is a US made Emerson, although your motor may be a different brand.

The pump is of Taiwanese manufacture -- all-in-all, it's been a great unit and for $412 it's a steal. IIRC I paid $450 for mine eight years ago.

I'm going to go take a look at it. If I can get them to deliver it I'll probably pull the trigger.

Well, I went to look at the Puma and ended up using the 25% off coupon to buy this bad boy for $899...
