So ive been on the search for my perfect lift choice. So far ive looked at a few.

Whip, Mohawk, Rotary, Worth, Bendpak.

recently i saw a CL ad for Nassbaum lift used.

then i was in a shop yesterday that had a new Whip lift installed he really liked upon checking out that localish companies Site, ALLTEX lifts i came across they also Sell Nassbaum.

Now here is the cool feature i like about Nassbaum the Mini Max.
http://www.nussbaum-group.de/englis.../smart-lift-two-post-lift/mini-max/index.html

now from my light reading These are capable up to 4200KG

they also show Double Jointed Lifting Arms

Anyone have some experience on these lifts?
or Nussbaum in general?

We've been using a Nussbaum jumbo scissor lift for many years, an it works great.

I'm going to get their scissor lift that goes up to 9000#lbs in the near future. Extremely well made and will last a long time.....also the paint finish has has held up good no chips or peeling and is used every day. Excellent product.

Shop is outfitted with close to 20 2-post lifts. Just like any other hoist, they require periodic maintenance. Great lifts, IMO.

we have 3 Nussbaum lifts in our hobby garage. IIRC the oldest one is from 2003. No problems so far.

So after some reading, and contacting the local dealer.

there have a couple options to get the cool features of the german style lifts here in the states.

First the smart Lift is only special order but comes in car sizes and uses the minimax pads. cost would be about 6k for this unit.

or they offer the 14k lift POWER LIFT HDL 14000 SST which has both the double articulating arms and the minimax pads. also about 6k

im trying to get some more information and some written quotes from dealers.

Called into Nussbaum USA today talked to Steve in their sales department.

and with the SPO10k lift the Minimax adapters are an option that they were previously not considering but they have had alot of calls apparrently about them. so they are going to include them as an option but they wont be removable like on the higher capacity lifts. You would have to swap out the arm instead of just the adaptor.

THe 10k Lift is ALI/CE certified, and made in USA. Minimax are CE certified from which i understand has higher standards then ALI. Minimax adaptors are made in Germany. and they reduce the lifts capacity to 9klbs. On any lift capacity even on the 14k lift.

the Lifting function is full Hydraulic with equalizing cables inside the posts.

single hand mechanical lock release and single hand raise functions.
meaning one hand on each lever.

Warranty is 7 year on structure, 2 year on parts, and 6 months on labor.

maybe some of you had this info but for future people reading i added it cause the site didn't clearly state all of this.

Motofool33, did you end up buying a Nussbaum lift? If so what are your impressions and which model/options did you buy?

I want to buy one houston area dealer will not get me a price with the minimax adaptors. I actually got a price from another dealer took him about 10 mins to get back to me. It was 6600$ with the minimax adapters.
4800 i think without them. Made in usa in there new usa facility.

I was then going to do a whip lift but again same company has the distribution rights in houston so I scratched them off my list too.

So now I'm looking at a rotary spoa10ra seems to hot both of my needs, low pad height and can still pick up my truck for service.

The other brand I liked is Maha they go very low 2.5"on their 7000# lift.

Currently I have a blasting and painting project taking up half my shop. Gotta finish that before I get a lift installed.

I'm looking at that Rotary too, and haven't dismissed the comparable Bendpak either. On paper the Nussbaum is my favorite, but is pretty much out of my price range.

Bendpak for me is hard to get local service/repair. And they made their lo pro arms non-screw up adaptor style and the regular are higher then rotary.

There's alot of cheaper models then rotary forsure just trying to decide if it's worth it or not to use the wood blocks to raise my car high enough to lift it or not.

I appreciate your comment but support your claim that I should run away with some info on why.

In my experience, there is a problem getting parts or getting them serviced. As a hobby lift , you might never have an issue.

I like the low pad height of the Bendpack compared to the Rotary. Rotary also does not have an adjustable lift pad either.

Actually I take that back... the Rotary does have and adjustable pad on this one http://www.rotarylift.com/LIFTS/SPOA10-TRIO/ I'm starting to lean this way.
Yea you need the ra model for round adaptor. Challenger is similar but pad height is slightly higher.

Bendpak does not offer adjustable/screw up pads on there low profile arms.
