I decided to go with RaceDeck flooring and I couldn't be happier.

I was planning on doing porcelain tile but there was going to be a tremendous amount of prep to the concrete slab to ensure a proper installation. The building was built in the early 1980s 4in uninsulated or vapor barrier-ed slab. It was a nice slab as far as having no cracks but the previous owners had home built oil burning heater, So the concrete has 30 years of oil residue and oil stains in the concrete. I knew it was going to be a pain to try to get all of that cleaned up enough to get a nice enough surface for tiling.

Here are the before pictures:

It went together great! I only had one tile get gouged while moving my fireproof cabinet full of paints and cleaners. I was able to use it for one of the cut pieces though and its not a big deal. I used a dead blow mallet to get them to snap together. I was doing the whole thing myself so that was the best tool for the job. All in it probably took about 3 hours of laying tile but the whole job took about 9 or 10 hours. Moving things alone *****!

I am more than happy with the end result and would recommend this product to anyone!

999 what's that is length and width? Looks like ma good amount ofnspace

It is 37 ft long, 27 ft wide. The other part of the garage is about 780 sqft. But I use that side to store my four wheelers and mower. So the total garage space is about 1800 sqft.

Awesome! Great color scheme.

Thanks! I was worried because I didn't want the orange to be too much but I wanted some color. Our logo has Orange in it so I figured it would blend well.

04 Looks amazing. What a difference!!If your floor was perfect would you have still used the Race deck? Does it make a noise when you walk or drive a car on it? I'm in the process of doing my garage and looking for flooring.

What a difference to your Garage.

I definitely would after getting it all down. Its hard to tell just from a sample whether it is what you want but after getting it all in I couldn't be happier. It does make a noise when it is walked on but its not something terrible, its the same noise when you walk on a wooden deck. I love how it feels when you lay on it. You really don't even need a creeper anymore because it is pretty comfortable to kneel and lay on.

04, How did you determine your colors? Did you buy a few different colors? The layout is really cool. Did you use there layout tool? I have a 4.5 car garage and I am trying to figure out a cool pastern. I also just installed a 4 post lift.
Damn I have to spend more money again. LOL

Do you can the Race Deck guy answer if you can put a 4 post lift on top of Race Deck? Do they make a flat tile for that?

I determined my colors based on other reviews about the white showing more dirt than the others. I really like the alloy color (light grey/silver) so i used that and the graphite (dark grey) for the traditional checkerboard in the front. I took a page from some other installs for the bays in the back half. I used orange in it because our logo has orange in it ---->Lol Fast Speedshop

I used their designer to lay it all out and was presently surprised that it all went together as it should (as long as you measure correctly).

I would highly recomend this flooring.

As far as the 4 post lift, they say that it goes right on top of the tile because each tile is designed to be able to hold some 80k lbs. Many people on the corvette forums have their 4 post lift on top and it works perfectly.

Looks great.

Thanks!

do the solid tiles have an issue with floor jacks / jack stands as people have commented the free-flow tiles do? (sagging and gouging with direct weight)

White is tough, I would only recommend it for a showroom type garage.
Not a good choice for any kind of working garage or if you are **** about keeping floor clean.

I solved the problem for jack stands.

as far as the floor jack goes, rolling it around with metal casters has been fine but i put it on a piece of wood while jacking something. I just didn't want to risk it.

I agree, my floor had dark dust that got all over the tiles during the install so I can't imagine white tiles.

I saw you have what looks to be a manhole cover under the mustang, how did you set up the flooring around that if I may ask.

I actually pulled it and filled it with concrete. It was just a hole for whatever reason the previous owner had it for.

That looks soooo much better!!! Enjoy!

Thanks, It is so much more enjoyable to work in.

**************UPDATE*****************************

I just wanted to update after using a floor jack on the floor. There was absolutely no mark left on the floor on the dark or light colored tile. I jacked up my 04 mustang with no damage to the floor.

Was that with the floor jack directly on top of the RD tiles, or did you have a piece of material between the floor jack and the tiles?

(Also, great idea with the jack stand bases!! I may do that also with my 1.5 ton set and my 4 ton set! Thx for the images.)
