Looks like Carlyle is getting into the hammers game, too:

A 32oz and a 40oz, dunno if they'll be making smaller ones.

No COO listed, so assumably Taiwan/China instead of a Trusty-Cook rebadge.

Well, what do you know - they ARE made by Trusty-Cook.

Wow, you'd think that NAPA would be touting that these are made in the USA.

So now the question becomes are they going to be like craftsman and sell these hammers cheaper than the OEM.... :D

Well, "list" pricing from www.napaonline.com is ridiculous when compared to buying direct from Trusty-Cook.

I'll have to stop in and see what "real" pricing is, though, as always with NAPA, no two people get the same price on things. :(

That drives me crazy about NAPA. I went in to buy some Carlyle sockets and knew what the list price was supposed to be. Shelf price was more, but they had a bucket promotion going on, so I got a discount but had to buy the stupid bucket. I THINK I came out ahead, but I'm not really sure...

You may have some luck talking to the manager, and just laying it out there as a "hey, I'm really interested in this stuff, can you work with me?"

The whole tiered pricing stuff is a double-edged sword, and commonly really whacked out.

Theoretically, shelf price should be the online price, but then there's online deals, the "reserve online and save 10% in store", bucket deals, etc.

If you work for a business that has a store credit account, you may be able to get a better price if both the store and the business with the account allow employees to use the business account discount.

Though, depending on the business you work for, they may not have a discount on all product lines (i.e. your company buys lots of belts and hoses, so great discount there, but no tools, so no discount there).

Nah, I'm just a hack who likes tools. I should be buying Wright rather than Carlyle anyway.

Trusty cook want's 72$ for the 5.5lb sledge off their website,
Matco (which I just ordered last week) was 126$. Napa (with discount pricing I get) is 99$.
I'd rather pay a bit more & have a lifetime warranty, but that's just me. I was searching on the TC hammers last week and they take the overall weight of the hammer instead of the head weight. Might explain the 22 & 26oz, not sure.
