I keep getting mixed answers on using RHH, RHW, USE-2 inside of conduit and buried. It will be running from the meter housing that has a 200 amp breaker to a new shop. It has to be inside of conduit, i have very rocky ground.

Can it be put in the ground this way? The current electric codes where i am is 2014 NEC.

thank you in advance for your help.

Yes you can put it in conduit under ground. It is required to be in conduit where exposed above ground and inside of the structure. Are you asking about Mobile Home Feeder (MHF) cable?

Pattenp, yes im am. i just wanted to put the rating listed so there is no confusion. why im confused is some say because its in conduit underground then it in a wet enviroment and that is a "no no" but direct buried is ok and above ground in conduit is ok.

Are you using URD with white stripe on neutral? It also can be installed in conduit underground and ran inside the building. URD with yellow stripe on neutral is not dual rated, it can be in conduit underground, but ran only to line side of the meter, you have to enter the building with another type of wire that is dual (fire rated) insulation, the URD with yellow stripe on the neutral is not. I just put my service in on my pole barn, I used URD (yellow stripe) to meter base and then load side of meter into with panel with THHN. I ran 2" PVC the whole way to the tap box, my ground is pretty rocky, plus the place was a dumping ground for 10 years or so.

PVC underground is considered a wet location

dw1,
The beginning of your quote "Pattenp, yes I am" was in response to the question by him "Are you asking about Mobile Home Feeder (MHF) cable?"

PVC underground is considered a wet location and MHF which is rated RHH/RHW-2/USE-2 is approved for use in wet locations.
