Just pulled the trigger on a Snap On 84" Epiq. The damn thing doesn't even have a part number yet! Custom color and custom drawer layout, now I have to wait eight weeks for delivery. I don't know how I am going to manage.

So here are the details:

Triple bank (no power bank)
UPDATE: 26 Drawers!! Not the original 25 Drawers.
Flat Blue
Titanium Trim
Stainless Top
Blacked out logo
Black wheels

I also bought a extreme green with titanium trim KRSC100A cart, but it only cost $400 extra.

$6500 trade in on my KRL 1023 (it is cranberry, so hard to sell)

Essentially I paid $11,860 (includes my original KRL purchase price) and the driver says if I finance it, he can offer another $1000 off. UPDATE: I found out that if I spend another $1,140 it will be $1,700 in rebates, so I can buy a few goodies with that! Good thing is I can finance it and pay it off in 90 days no interest.

What did I doooooooooooooo!

It is called flat blue.

My driver has a box that is flat blue with titanium trim and that is what gave me the idea. It is beautiful in person. Both the box color and the trim color are different depending on the angle and light you see them under.

I could have matched the color, but I figured the cart was small enough that extreme green was the way to go!

If you round up it is $12K. Now with the rebates it goes back to under $11k!

Here is the trade in box:

I needed to do this like I needed another hole in my head. It will only hurt for a little while.

The driver was all ready prepping me for next year, I don't even want to talk about next year, at least not until after I have the new box.

Thanks Twertsy.

I like the avatar pic, but it was kind of difficult to find when looking through posts. It didn't pop, because of the B&W. I still enjoy looking at it.

Sounds like an awesome color -- like Richard Petty Plymouth racing blue or something.

Enjoy the box, you only live once! Having a larger, more organized box is a good thing and saves time and time is more precious than money.

I'll give you $401 for the cart so you can make a profit and put it towards paying off the box. :)

I'm sure you'll love it. You got more balls than me though. I'm still happy buying the old boxes off CL for cheap.

Nothing like that color. Think royal blue without any gloss. Kind of hard to describe.

I will enjoy it for sure. Especially the custom drawer layout, I did not want any really deep drawers, so I ordered almost all 2" and 4" drawers. Except for the two long top drawers, those are standard sizes only.

I figure I am working my way up. I bought the other box for $4,000 and a bit of trade, but nothing I really placed value on. So I figure I gained $2,500 on a box that may be unsellable because of the cranberry color. I will let the snap on driver deal with that one. :)

I had researched different boxes, but I had never really been in the presence of an epiq before. I really like the latches for the drawers. The main reason I did this was because I wanted a non standard color and drawer layout. This would normally cost an additional $3,500 on top of the box price.

I had looked at swapping out my drawers, but it still would have been about $2,000 and I don't mind cranberry, but it is not my first choice for a box color.

That's awesome! I can't wait to see the flat blue on yours when you post a pic of it. Just got my Epiq a couple weeks ago, royal blue, still waiting on the top and work center to get here. Ask your tool guy but they also have an EC Rewards program that can give you truck credit depending on how much you spend. I just got $785 in truck credit in addition to the $1000 instant rebate. Enjoy that box!

He told me about it, he thought it would be around a grand, but wasn't sure. I will only be "financing" $5,500 so it may be less. Even then, it is only for 90 days so I don't pay interest.

I will absolutely post pics when she arrives.

The funny part is I had my mind made up, I was going with a KRL 7023 and a nice cart. I guess things change. :lol_hitti

Who knows?
84-inches? Wowwwww. That sounds really nice! I've got close to that in three boxes, but they are much lower quality than yours is. Gets the job done though.

Can't wait to see the pics man. Sucker sounds awesome!

Im gonna guess your drawer layout is kinda like this, also because of the custom drawer layout you will end up with a ton of extra drawer liners, as they just send 2 complete sets with the box

Warmpancakes,

Very similar, I had them setup with 4" drawers across the bottom, then three rows of 2" all the way across, then two rows of 4" all the way across, then one row of 2" all the way.

On the left of the long drawers I have a 4" at the top and a 2" below that.

I figured I could swap things around later if I don't like it that way.

I had to get out of the KRL mentality, the "narrow" drawers on the epiq are 22" wide!

That was why I was considering the KRL 7023. I am used to the height of the 1023 now, so I don't think it will be a huge deal for me.

I think the only way you could lower yours would be to take the wheels off.

Congratulations on your Epiq. I know that's a lot of money but I'm guessing you'll be using it for many, many years to come and you'll certainly never regret having such a fantastic box. Looking forward to the photos in eight excruciatingly long weeks from now. :)

You'd be surprised at what those guys can sell...I've often said the best place to buy/swap/sell boxes is on a Tool truck of any brand...its those guy's business to know who likes what, who's in the market for what...etc.. If tool box sales were like they were on CL (especially here in ME) they'd have warehouses full of boxes, LOL.

im considering that, ive built some stands for the box, but dont really wanna empty it so i can install them

Got Pics of your stands? I've got a mental plan for a set of legs/bottom lip protector for mine...don't like the wobbliness of it on casters, Would prefer to have it fixed and just use my pallet jack to move it around if I need to.

Does Snappy offer the fixed cabinet base for Epiq like they do for the KRL? I contemplated ordering those, but would make the pallet jack moving not possible.
