I spent hours reading threads on this forum planning my project. I thought I would share my updates with you guys.
I started with a one car garage that is attached to the house. The long term plan is to build out the one car into an additional room and bathroom. First things first, we had to build a new garage. After months of going back and forth with the city over how much we could get away with, we got the green light to move forward with the garage.
After getting some bids from contractors, we decided to go with Tuff Shed. No regrets, the hardest part was getting permission from the city and meeting the requirments they have.

Here was our starting point.

Once the foundation was down the structure went up fast. The foundation took a couple of weeks to get done. Scheduling and waiting for sign off's took a big chunk of time. Had it not been for sign off's, the Tuff Shed guys would have been done in about 2 1/2 days.
Here is what I came home to on day one of Tuff Shed starting.

Looking Good !! You've got great looking lot & landscaping.

Think you're going to like the man door all the way back in corner ??

Guessing at your location . . . with palm trees, I'd say California ??

Update GJ Profile with a Location.

Thanks guys, and you are right. Im in Orange County, CA.
I went back and forth on the placement of the door. I have not used it enough to know if given the chance I would do it differently, but I can say I have yet really use it. For the most part I use the car door.
Location updated.

Progress:
With the structure up, it was time for some drywall.

My first color choice was white. I thought white would make for a nice and bright work area. While in the planning stages I joined a car cruise from the Petersen Museum to the Reagan Library, this beast was part of that cruise. Since the only part of the car that I was able to afford was the paint, my paint scheme went in a new direction.

Well the budget got out of hand, mostly because of my cities requirements. The structure itself was pretty affordable. The crete set us back about $7k, I wanted enough depth in the hopes that I will one day be able to save up enough to buy a max jax lift. The Structure was only $11k w/ permits, this would have included a finish that my city would not approve for final inspection. We had to match the stucco on the house. The stucco alone was $4500. Electrical from the house to the garage was $2k with permits. Drywall, paint, lights, and misc, we are @ about 28.
Friends and family helped with the interior electrical and paint to try to help me save some money.
As for the driveway we plan to do those grass pavers that you can drive over. Just not sure when the budget will allow for that. For now the cars that are in there don't move much. I have an old fox Mustang that is in pieces and another Mustang that I've driven twice since the baby was born in May.

So after months of having to sit under car covers while the construction was in full swing I was finally able to move the cars into the garage.
The Mustangs are full time residents. Because of the measurments, I knew three cars would fit, I just wasnt sure exactly how tight it would be. When the time came to change the oil in my daily driver I decided to give it a try. More space than I thought I would have. Next challenge will be trying to see if I can get my wifes Suburban in there.

Update:
Finally got a chance to get back into the garage this weekend.
I bought a master blaster air dryer. My car is a magnet for spider webs when I wash and dry. Im looking to go completly touchless and this product kept coming up on my searches. I never realized how much water hides in nooks until I used this blower.

Great looking build. This is pretty similar to what I have been looking at building. I am really liking the GT paint scheme, and your car care storage!

Thanks Geezershop! Prior to this, the nicest toolbox I've owned was a craftsman box. WOW, what a difference. I know you can't compare the two, but it really is night and day. I was sold when I stood in the bottom drawer of the Matco box fully opened and it didn't flex. I asked a Snapon guy if I could do the same and he almost kicked me off the truck.

Is that a 4eye fox in your avitar?

Manny, the garage looks great. I do like your color choice. The Shelby and the Notch are real nice. Whats done to the Notch?

Ive had the notch for about 10 years now. It was a pretty simple heads/cam/intake car. Car was fun, put down 281/30?. In 2005 that was enough to be competitive, today not so much. Bought an S trim that has been put on hold during the construction project. Maximum coilovers and arms in the front, contemplating making the rear IRS.
Working on it will be so much nicer now, wrenching in the one car was a challenge.
Stangspace, I wish I could hire you to work on my engine bay, yours came out exactly like I wish mine would.

Very nice garage bud. I'm surprised OC even let you build one with the set back requirements and all their normal BS.
