For good lighting it's not a good idea. You'll see it in paint booths occassionally so that inspection is a little easier.

What would be your reason? I'm picturing too much back light when the project you are working on is positioned between you and one of the lights.

Only if your painting cars or furniture will wall mounted lights be of any use and that's if they are mounted close to the floor. Paint booths use wall mounted lighting to prevent shadows while painting. When I had my booth I actually set the lights up where I could only turn on certain ones or all if I needed them, you can actually get too much lighting sometimes.

Thanks everyone - I thought it might be useful but I can see how it would be annoying and could creat shadows
