I picked up a Central Machinery 12" Disk Sander (1.25 HP and 1750 RPM) from Harbor Freight recently and have been pleasantly surprised by its performance. Its a very heavy unit that runs very smoothly with no vibration. It comes with 3 sander discs with adhesive backs (80, 100, and 120 grit) that work very well sanding wood and plastic (only things I used on it so far)...

I never expected this piece of machinery to be this good. I expect tools like this, purchased from Harbor Freight, to be built cheaply from thin metals and to fall apart quickly but this sander has neither problem.

The motor case is heavy cast metal (it truly is a very heavy sander) and had a built in carry handle on the balance point of the unit. It reminds me of the table sander my Dad had (Craftsman) in our wood shop on the Farm in the early 70s.

It comes with an attached aluminum work table(fully adjustable) with a Mitre Gauge (sliding and also fully adjustable) and a built in base equally as heavy as the engine casing with thick rubber feet to absorb any vibration. And has a shop vac connection to keep the dust down.

I am very happy with this sander and (so far) recommend it. it was on sale for $149.99 and I used my 20% off coupon for a total cost of $119.99 pretax.

There is a youtube video on the exact one (even same color) that I got.

I have the same one, bought it probably 8years ago and use the **** out of it. Only issue I've had is that the table doesn't lock down completely tight, not hard to fix though.
