Stumped on this vise; Lathop / Lathof (?) Co. New York

I googled it and didn't see anything at all. pics coming, it's a full size 4.5" jaw, old style mount with the big wing nut underneath, had pipe jaws now gone.

Lathop (or maybe Lathof) Co New York

The slide is different than anything I think I've seen before. Guessing WWI era...

ok there is an R in the name that I missed but still saw nothing on google,

and it is 4" not 4.5" the middle of the slide is a separate piece of metal. Won't get a real good look at it til tomorrow when I move some things around in the garage so i can unload the van.
