i have a track saw from grizzly wich has been great until recently. after making a cut though 1 sheet of 7/16" osb, it needs to sit a while. it wont react to the trigger at all. is this a brushes issue. i not over stressing the saw cutting osb i would not think.

Sounds like an intermittent switch problem. Call Griz tech support line, they are pretty good with helping out.

If it is an intermittent switch problem then it would test fine at times but not when it is not working, right?

Failed bearing? If there is a large current passing through the the cord I doubt the brushes have failed. How did you test this the switch?

opened the saw. tested for current after the switch. no current after switch when not engaged. current appeared with the switch engaged.

Sounds like the switch is ok. when you say current appeared (amps) or was voltage present. there could be a thermal overload that is kicking out. if this was kicked out you would have voltage and no current flow. and once it cooled down it would work again for a while. if the motor was locked up you would have high current flow and voltage for a while till it kicked out the thermal. check brushes, wires, does it spin freely. check the commutator.

I have the Scheppach version of this saw and just ordered new brushes for it from Grizzly on Monday. Mine just died after ripping a piece of 3/4" birch ply on a 45. First time I had used the saw to make anything other than a 90 degree cut. Were the brushes easy to change out?
