Saw these in Meijer today. Seem pretty nice. I picked up a set. Kudos to MIT for more USA made products. fa3360a37cbdb32ec4adee34b5a4cfeb.jpg

Seems like a pretty good price. How are the handles on those? The shape looks like they were left in an oven and melted.

BMack, I was going to say the handles look like alien *** toys but yeah, either way I don't think I would like them.

Actually comfortable as heck. I'll take more picks later. They are comfort soft grip and are much like a variation on wera handles.

Hell, Made in U.S.A. and the handle design looks like a cross btwn a Felo Ergonic + Wera...I'd definitely buy a set & put them through their paces!

Added them to my cart on Amazon and as soon as they're back in stock, I'm going to order a set & see how long these tips last.

That's a pretty nice sized set at that price.

They had a lot more shelf spaced cleared out as well, they generally do that when they replace with better products so I am wondering what else Michigan Industrial Tools has in store for us.

The flat head looks like a standard craftsman screwdriver. Still not bad for a 12pc set even if they are Craftsman with a different handle. If I didn't have a complete Klein set in my service van tool set I would pick then up for the van. I wonder if they will be doing hex torx and nut drivers.

I don't think they are WF. And if it was Craftsman WF a flat head would have a hex shank.

Could be Pratt Reed.

TEKTON SCREWDRIVERS

That is the set I added to my shopping cart on Amazon and would be willing to test out. A bit more extensive than the O.P.'s set. I'm wondering if they're looking to extend to Torx, a bit holder, etc.

I wish I needed some more screwdrivers... I've got two Chinese sets that are working for me for now though.

If they're anything other than the standard awful craftsman blades, it looks like a really nice set for the money.

We are planning on expanding the program to include nut drivers and torx drivers soon.

Glad to see that you guys are excited about the new driver lineup. I understand everyone is curious about the manufacturing process, but private business relationships have to remain private. These are TEKTON products through and through. Like all TEKTON tools they will be Always Guaranteed.

They were developed at our Grand Rapids MI. location and made 100% in the USA. We designed the handle to be a balance of gripping strength/ speed of use. We really focused on innovative ways to maintain a premium product without creating unnecessary expense.

Thanks for the feedback so far, and I look forward to hearing more.

What is your title at Tekton? Also, how many handle concepts were tested/prototyped?

I'm the Tool Solutions Manager for the company. My team handles all the end user support. I also work with our Design team, Digital experience team, and Store experience team.

I don't know the exact answer for the number of handles, but I can tell you it is pretty high. Our team worked on fine tuning that handle for a while.

Any plans on expanding the selection at Meijer to be even more comprehensive? Perfect fit for two GR based companies.

I don't know about the Meijer selection, but I know the program itself will be growing. We will soon have nut drivers and torx drivers.

I'm still thinking Wilde. Since they came out with new screwdrivers but, may not have finalized the handle shape.

What? When did these come out?

EDIT - just did some googling and I see a thread from June, but nothing about them actually being out.

I'm a big Wilde fan but I hadn't heard about these.

My Wilde screwdrivers are some of my main go-to drivers, but I'll gladly buy the new ones when I can get them.

Maybe you could contact Epstein's and perhaps they can get the new line of screwdrivers added to their store. :dunno:

If they ever hit $35 on amazon then I think it will pick them up since I would like to have a matching set of screwdrivers. In the mean time hf pros are working good for me atm. Going to be interested in how good the shafts are. I hope they preform as good as they look.

The packing should have Made In USA more promenantly displayed, most consumers think all Tekton is China made.

Agreed. These look nice and I will be picking up a set to replace all of my stripped / abused no name ones.

I second the motion for more substantial mention of Made in the USA.

Also, anyone know if there is a list of all the tools Tekton make's in the USA? I am getting to the point of upgrading / replacing several sets of my tools and would be very interested in know more about what Tekton sells that are made here.

Thanks

The COO is just one bit of information and not the tell all.

Tekton hybrid and rubber air hose, slip joint and groove joint pliers, tool storage, poly bungees, screwdrivers, chisels. These are all USA made TEKTON products with TEKTON support behind them.

Just noticed there's a 3 piece square drive set out. And additional drivers, such as the nut drivers & torx would be amazing.

What about a bit holder with this ergonomic handle shape / design?

no nut or hex shafts are a deal breaker for me. Having the ability to use a wrench for extra torque is a feature i can't live without.

Good looking set. Just one question, are more sizes in the works, namely a #3 Phillips? Noticed that wasn't in the set, but might definitely be willing to give these a try.
