As they say in the U.K., "And now for something completely different."

This is NOT Ronco, folks, this is Stahlwille*; I repeat, this is NOT Ronco...

Found it on...

...and learned a bit more at...

http://www.aviationtoday.com/am/categories/commercial/8192.html

The Aviation Today link above also tells of Stahlwille having just come out with a Zero Throw Ratchet, but I have not been able to track that animal down elsewhere on the Internets.

So come on Stahlwille; get hip and get on YouTube like Wera with their Zyklop, and let's see those puppies dance!

And for comparison's sake, has anyone ever used the older type of ratcheting flare nut wrenches?

I'm going to our local Stahlwille stockist this afternoon :)bounce:), I'll ask about the 'Zero Throw Ratchet', but it's not in their new products sheet :headscrat

I've used the Facom 70A flare nut ratchets. Objectively they work very well, subjectively I spent the whole time thinking "I'm going to tear up the nut", on someone else's car, and ended up fetching my own conventional set.

I've no doubt the FastRatch works too, but I think I'd have the same mental block on using one. As they're $44 to $60 each (at today's exchange rate), I don't think I'll be buying one as an experiment :shocking:

If they were not so ridiculously expensive I would have bought one to try, I think they would be very useful for use with all thread.

Part of the reason they are expensive is they are stainless steel. I have a set and they are very useful, especially on stainless fasteners.
