Not really sure on it's age? But I just repaired an old Famco #3 Arbor Press that I picked-up from a industrial surplus store. It was originally outfitted with a jig & plate fixture that was set-up to press & clamp a small emblem to a bracket.
The whole set-up only operated for about 2" so the center section of the ram & drive gear were pretty worn-down.
The ram was some type of cast-iron (maybe ductile-iron) so I used some nickel welding rod & built up the teeth, Then reshaped them with a die grinder. Drive gear was some type of regular steel, So I just used some 6013 welding rod to build it up, Then reshaped with the die grinder.
First two pic's are of the worn-down drive-gear & ram, Second two pic's are after welding & reshaping the teeth.
