my Pole Barn Build

Got the shell up on the pole barn a couple weeks ago. The size is 40 x 48 x 12h. Now that toys are put away, its time to wait for some warmer weather to start on the inside.
I live in central Minnesota so its gonna be kept warm in the wintertime.
The end plan is insulated floor, infloor heat, walls sprayed (?), ceiling blown, steel ceilings and wall coverings. Right now I'm thinking off peak elec boiler.
Main Purpose is: woodshop, mancave, work on the toys and vehicles.
I subbed out the pole barn and boy those guys are quick. They had the whole thing done in 4-5 days. I plan on doing about 1/2 of the remaining stuff myself and hiring the rest.

This is my first time posting pictures, some of them came out as poster size so I removed them.. will work on that, lol

Finished barn. Cant see it, but there's also a 12 x 10h overhead door on the other end.

Nice shop. Those guys really work fast. I would still be trying to get the corners square.

Looking great! I am sure your excited. I like the 2 tone exterior.

It's always amazing how quickly things get done when you have someone that knows what they are doing. Like anything, it's easy if ya know what your doing and have the tools. Very nice looking build.

Yeah, it made a huge difference hiring it out. All that company does is pole barns, so they knew what they were doing and popped it up quick. I've always been in construction fields and so are a lot of my friends, but all of us have zero pole barn experience. Me and 2 other guys decided it would have taken us a month to do what this crew did in the first 2 days.. lol

I'm really happy with it, and already planning end game shop layout on Grizzly's site. That's quite a ways away, but gets me thinking.

I like the way the 2 tone siding turned out also, the colors are a very close match to my house siding too.

I ended up using Imageshack, but 1/2 the pictures came out so big that I had to go back and resize them down to 1024 pixels first, then upload them back to imageshack and then put the link in. I dont know why 1/2 the pictures did that, they were all taken from the same phone..

Nice barn! That went up quick! I will be subscribing to see what else you got planned, I'm building my own barn too, a 30x40x12, But hired out he insulation job, you might want to check out what I had done on mine as far as insulation goes, it turned out real nice

Stopped over at my woodshop today at my old apartment for a couple tools. This is where I've been doing my projects out of for years. As you can see it's only 10x22, Im excited for all the room I'm going to have in the new pole barn. It'll be nice to just walk out the door, instead of currently driving 15 minutes away. Right now I still keep everything there to use and the garage is heated. Can't let the tools get cold.. lol

Wow that barn is going to be awesome. nice tools. how do you like the Dewalt planer? Do you wish you had got a bigger unit or is the dewalt sufficient?

Thanks. Been accumulating and upgrading tools for a while. I don't really have to twist my own arm much to buy tools either.. haha
The planer works good. Its a 13", so a couple times I've wished it was bigger, but not often enough for me to justify the price jump for my needs. The rough cut lumber I buy is usually 8-10" wide anyways. I did wish it had a more powerful self feed though. I think I'm using a push stick to much for slight depth changes. I think my next shop tool will be a 18" open ended drum sander tho, so after I plane and join bigger widths together I can sand a wider area.

Looks like you have some really nice wood working tools in there! It will be nice to see them set up in that new DaBarn oops I meant barn Your new shop will feel huge at first after working out of that 10x22
