Keep an eye out. The Lowe's near me is clearing out the hard handle "mechanics" screwdrivers. All are about 1-2 dollars off regular now. But you know how they go to cheap quick. These have the metal cap on them and a hard plastic handle. The 4PC set is not clearance and is made in China. But the singles are USA and clearance. If I needed anymore screwdrivers I would pick these up. They seem pretty damn nice.

Yep. Even Taiwan made was too much of a cost so a lot of the mechanics tools are now China. Who knows if the quality is as good as it was. I have some sockets ratchets and wrenches in my van that are Taiwan made Kobalt and they are damn nice for what I paid.

Yeah, the USA ones were sold out a long time ago weren't they?

Anyway. They were horrible, cheap acetate drivers and nothing to write home about. You're better off with the Pittsburg Pros or similar.

These are different. They have a snap on like hard handle and striking caps on them. Blue in color. They are labeled mechanics screwdrivers.

These are the ones the OP is talking about. I checked them out, but the clearance price only brought them down a couple dollars. They're still over $5 a piece.

I really like my Kobalt "electrician" screwdrivers. They're regular priced at just over $5 for the pair and USA made.
