Very tempting - especially seeing as they are 120XP ratchets. But I have so many sets of sockets of various makes (including gearwrench) I just cant justify getting these.

120 XP ratchets in both the 1/4 and 3/8 set?

I think your going to find just the 1/4 set is 120xp. I seen this before and people complained the 3/8 was 84T..

Edit:

from the web site

• 57-Piece 3/8 in. Drive 6-Point SAE/Metric Standard/Deep Socket Set - 80550
• 51-Piece 1/4 in. Drive 6-Point SAE/Metric 120XP Standard/Deep Socket Set - 80300P

Your still getting a good deal. If I wasn't looking at Williams for sockets, I would get this deal just for the sockets alone.

I like the fact that a 1 inch socket is included in the set. This deal would have been a steal if it had the 120 XP in 3/8 ,well 84 is good.

Cases fairly durable these come in? They would make nice tool sets to have to just grab and go with if so.

Great deal but $98 to ship to Ontario and then tax and the exchange on the dollar and the deal is not so great

Yea I think just the 1/4" is the 120 position ratchet...honestly, I don't even care.. A 72 tooth model is more than enough for me, one being 120 is just a bonus.. Regardless, the 1/4" kit alone sells for more than price they want for both.. Amazon, Sears, CPO, and many other places seem to have this deal. For me, this was the cheapest place..

Has anyone recieved these yet? I've been looking up reviews on ntxtools.com and they don't look good. I might spend the extra $15 to just order them from cpo so I know I won't have any problems.

I would avoid ntx. The short shipped my order (didn't ship all the items) and wouldn't refund my money. I had an awful time with paypal getting the money back.

I had an issue with them, posted here and complained and they took care of it, and were reasonable about it. Ordered several times since, no problems.

I've never ordered from the personally, but yea, several members on here claim they're alright to work with. The online reviews for them and their sister sites look horrendous though.

Not this specific deal, but last week i bought the gearwrench BOGO flare nut wrench sets. They were the cheapest around, even with the $8.95 shipping. Received my order in 2 days, which I thought was amazingly fast. Live in california

Well maybe they've turned things around then, up until now I hadn't heard a whole lot (or anything) positive about them.

CPO is having the same promo.. It might be like $5 more.. Maybe they will price match if you call or email them. They lowered their price like $90 for me on an m18 fuel kit they had listed on eBay a few years ago.. I'd give it a shot if you think its worth it..

Pics of my sets that came in.. Overall very nice.. The 3/8" set comes with their 84 tooth ratchets. For reasons I'll never understand, this is another set that comes with shallow broaching on the deep sockets.. My old craftsman's are not like that, but I think snap on does the same thing.. Kinda defeats the purpose of the "clearance, clearance, clearance" argument- but it is what it is. Ratchets are pretty smooth. I'm sure there are better ratchets to be bought, (not by me) but they are not junk. I still might grease them up though. Socket retention is very good for not having a release button. Case seems decent.. Not great, not bad, somewhere in the middle.. It's def not like a dewalt or Milwaukee hard case, but it serves it purpose and is nice and organized. Makes a good choice to just remove the top and lay the whole thing in a toolbox drawer if that's what you like to do. I wouldn't go dropping off a rooftop but let's be realistic. Nothing shifts around if I close it and shake the set. These sets are Well worth the money IMO. Sockets are nice and heavy. Chrome is nice, not a "show chrome" but good.. The insides of the sockets are finished nicely. A few have some marks inside on the bottom, but nothing horrible.. The SAE sockets have no knurling around the bottoms, the metrics do..

The sae goes from 1/4" to 7/8" on the deeps, and 1/4" to 1" on the shallows (11 and 13 sockets)
The metric goes from 6 to 19 on the deep and the shallows (14 sockets on each)

1/4" set has the 120xp ratchet. Everything else is basically the same except the metric and sae position in the case is reversed.

Metric goes from 4 to 15, including a 5.5 in both sets (13 sockets each)
SAE goes from 3/16" to 9/16" in both sets (10 sockets each)

If it's not clear, ALL sockets in these kits are 6 point only. And also, for the record, the difference in swing arc between the 84 tooth and 120 tooth ratchets is only 1.3 degrees of arc.. Hardly life changing..

What do yall think about using this as a set to keep in the truck for emergencies?

It does not seem to have duplicates and the case is low profile unlike some of the massive Craftsman sets that have tons of duplicates and come in a case the size of a trailer.

Yup the case is fairly trim. I have the set in my truck in a tool box.

Update:

Placed my order 3/16 and the package was at my house 3/18. Nicely packaged, no damage. Very pleased with the set, well worth the $104. Showed my dad and he liked it so much I ended up placing another order for a second set for him to carry in his car.

Only issue I seem to have, and it may not really be an issue, but on the second part of my order, I grabbed the following:
4 Pc. Flex Combination Ratcheting Wrench Completer Set SAE
and
8 Pc. Flex Combination Ratcheting Wrench Set SAE

The "issue" is that I would have thought the wrenches from the second set would all fit into the "completer" set, but it seems that quite a few of them will not fit into the holder. I have the full Metric set, and when I compared, it seems to fit in that holder fine.

Anyone have any thoughts?

It even includes the elusive 15mm 1/4" socket for the Hansen tray folks like myself.

For anyone intersted, I bought a tube of white lithium grease and lightly greased the ratchets.. They were lubricated from the factory, but they are even smoother after a light coat of white lithium.

I ordered 2 sets of these on 3/3 and have yet to receive them. And their customer service is a joke. I've called about 10 times a day for the past week and have yet to get through to a person and after 15 minutes it has you leave a voicemail. I leave my name, number, and order number for them to call me back and I haven't gotten any call. They took the money from my credit card right away though..

This promo has been running for years. I bought the 1/4" kit when it was about $45 or so at Advanced Auto several years ago and then this promo popped up so I bought it. I have two of the 1/4 kits and they are so nice, I haven't bought SK 1/4 sets to match my 3/8. I was going to give the second kit to my Dad, but I found many uses for it keeping it in the case and taking it with me.

Gearwrench has a ton of BOGO promos right now, you just find the product number and it normally has a letter behind it, and search for where has it the cheapest. For example:
