Re: First garage(s)!

Looks like a great house! Nice big property too. Post up picks of the garage, it looks like it'll be a decent size from your photo.

Dude thats a huge garage! Perfect for washing cars too. I wish I had a drain and concrete up that high.
Yeah it is nice that they did it that way.. it also has a water line in it as well.

Re: First garage(s)!

Started to get organized. Got some shelving up and hung a 42" flat screen. Like to live stream a lot of the drag races while having some beers.

I had one outlet in the entire place! Pure hell lol

Lots of potential.

I use PicMonkey Photo Editor to re-size my photos. It is a free online photo editor that lets you crop, auto-adjust, or fiddle with the exposure, contrast, etc. I always auto-adjust when I upload a picture for re-sizing. http://www.picmonkey.com/

Re: First garage(s)!

I made a comfy seat or my bullet reloading station out of one of my old race seats. I need to re do it and add casters

The reloading spot. Im actually going to flip this area around so i can have a wood/sheetrock wall instead of cement. Makes it hard to hang anything

I was trying tor about 6 months to find a third matching shelving unit but apparently costco changed the design. Made it deeper and cheaper. Its not nearly as sturdy as the other 2

I can see a big problem..... some damn fool has put what appear to be household appliances in the garage.... ;)
If you're talking about the washer and dryer you are correct and cant wait for the day they are moved lol. Cant stand it there.

Re: First garage(s)!

So on the list of things to do was get this horribly placed oil tank moved. There was no fill or vent from the outside...

Good thing i got friends in the industry

Much much better

Oil tank relocation made a huge difference! Very elegant solution. This shop has all kinds of potential and has great character. Specs on the Mustang?

yeah I was amazed at the difference. the funny thing was my buddy was measuring that all out the night we moved in. needed to cut 2" out of the legs and it fit perfect. almost like its meant to be there. there is a lot of potential and I will get there lol. I actually decided that I want to take down the foundation wall that separates the 2 garages and than I will have a 32x50 garage lol. I need to hire a structural engineer first to come look at it. but that will wait till after the wedding. the mustang will have a built 5.3 ls with a borg s476 turbo on it. I parted away the integra in hopes to make more power with the mustang and still be able to drive it on the street.

Re: First garage(s)!

Got some of the walls painted this weekend after the floor dried up some.

Went to lowes and brought in a piece of metal off the mustang to get the color matched.

What a difference

Re: First garage(s)!

The wall on the left really bothered me.. and i hate the cabinets.

Need to mud and tape the wall up now but i think i want to get rid of this shotty beam someone installed at one time. Its 2 2x12s that sandwich 3/4 plywood than 3 2x10s samdwich that and then put up on 4x4s samdwiched by 2x4s. From what i have read 3 2x8s should do the job. But i need sme expert advice before i touch it.. i think this is highly over enginerred.

Also got a metal work bench that im fixing up to be my new welding station

Added a rear bar for support

Re: First garage(s)!

Started switching the 2 bulb 4' florescent fixtures with 4' led fixtures.. they are expensive but they are smaller and bright as hell!

Bottle opener and cap catcher i made.

Finding old outlets buried in the ceiling? Sure it actually worked out right where i needed an outlet lol

Got some of the stuff moved back.. cant stand the wood work bench anymore even though i just replace the legs to raise it up 6" i think im going to paint it all black and put a metal top on it. Still have to raise my welding bench up. I also dislike the shelvs now and plan on getting some black and polished husky cabinets instead.

Re: First garage(s)!

Nice work on the garage it's looking great. You seem handy so I figured I'd suggest this. If you can find some cheap t8 or t12 lights (or even free) you can very cheaply convert them to LED for a fraction of buying. I couldn't find what i wanted on craigslist at the time so I bought the cheapest lights I could at Menards for 9 bucks and then found a store on the internet that sells LED lights for 7 bucks. 25 bucks later and I had a light. I built 5 total. The ones I've seen in store usually sell for 40.
