Some clearance deals at O'Reilly auto stores

Found some clearance items that might be of interest.

O'reilly changed their clearance section a few years ago, so it makes it a little harder to find good deals...but still doable. Basically, forget about getting any clearance item shipped to your home. There is no free shipping on clearance items, and the shipping charge is outrageous. So always do "pick-up in store".

If you see a clearance item you like, check to see that it says "Free Pick Up In-Store: Available". Their inventory count is usually accurate. I have ordered items with major discounts, and the employees haven't stolen it from me. A lot of times, the employees are surprised about the major discounted price. Which leads me to believe that when you place the order, the employee who pulls the item off the shelf does not know the sale price. They only find out when they scan the item when you pick it up.

If the item you see says: "Free Pick Up In-Store: Call Store for Details", that usually means the item is out of stock at your preferred store. But you can change your preferred store to other locations, and tdo the search again.

Somewhat tedious. Like I said before, O'reilly changed their clearance section interface a few years ago, so its a tad more difficult now.

Anyways here are some deals that I just purchased. They might be available in your local area:

Impact Wrench: $14.37

Thanks for the heads up. I went by one where the GM is a friend of mine. He pointed out a couple more that weren't listed online.

Performance Tools magnetizer $0.17 #20172

16 oz Bug Be Gone red spray bottle $0.87 #BBG1

Ice Sealant $2.17 #T489KT

Meguire's paint protectant $1.37 #G36516

The Champaign IL store has 2 of the MC1 chargers. Personally I don't like manual chargers.
They also have the speed handles and muti-function wrenches. They are in the NW corner on a clearance rack. They all have the wrong prices on them but ring up with the prices listed online.

Thanks for the heads up.

I looked at the website and thought I figured out the interface to the availability servlet, but I don't have it working yet. If I work it out I'll let you guys know and make an O'reilly Auto version of the Lowe's Price Checker.

Thanks for the heads-up. Picked up the 12v impact wrench and the speed handles today in S. PHX. The prices were exactly as noted by the op.

Shipping was way more than I wanted to pay... Free shipping kills a lot of these deals for me as I feel the deal is lost :/

EDIT: Thanks for posting though!

Picked up the speed wrench and Impact, Thanks! Impact works well enough that I'll keep it in the wifes car in case of a flat.

Oh wow, just noticed that the impact is 12V DC. How the hell does that not just pop fuses?

If it's like the impacts of old they spool up a lot then hit. Whiiiiirrrrrr......bam! Repeat. They probably hit once every 1-2 seconds.

I had one back in the late 90's from JCW. It was ok in a pinch, and I used it in a motel parking lot to pull a tire after the Rubicon, broke the bead w my Hi-Lift and dug all the twigs out from the bead that were causing slow leaks so I could hop on the Interstate & drive home.

The irony is that the one I had came in a hard case w a real decent set of black 1/2" drive impact sockets. I still use those sockets today.

BTW headsup. The clearance items that showup in the clearance tab on the website are only those items that are simultaneously available for shipping.

But there are also additional clearance items that are available in store only. Those items DO NOT show up in the clearance section of the main website. You just have to manually search the site for those items. I know PITA.

For example, the impact wrench I posted above will not show up in the clearance section, because it is not available for shipping. It is only available in store (if your chosen store has it in stock).

Yes, it does have a female drive on the end. At least the one I picked up last night for $.18 (including tax!) did. :)

Strange, this one shows up, I can add it to my cart, but it says local pickup not available.

I tried to buy one yesterday, got through the ordering process. Paid, and even got the email saying they will contact me when it is available for pick-up. Sure enough, the very next email said it could not be fulfilled and will be canceled.

Yea I noticed the same yesterday. Don't really need it anyway. Maybe i'll swing in the local store this evening since I gotta drive past it anyway.

That means it is available for shipping, but not at your local store. Try changing you store until it shows "available" for in-store pickup.

I was talking to a CSR a few months ago. He said their online inventory system is very accurate. If something shows available for in-store pickup, but they can't find it, that means it was either stolen or just misplaced. It's somewhere in that store.

Out of 4 local stores I found only one that had a saw. I also picked up a set up shallow metric sockets for $3.

I'll have to stop in and look around then. Thanks.

This is kind of a pain in the ****... so that ratchet says 1 available online. I just have to keep switching stores to see which store has that 1 for free in-store pickup?

I'm certainly not gonna pay $14 ground shipping on a $.77 ratchet that retails for $9 lol

$6!

Could not find the little ratchet. He called another store who showed one but they could not find it.

This guy told me they keep all their clearance in the back. So technically they get all the deals. It's not on the floor for reg Joe to spot and buy.
