sure, there are a few detail differences, like the handle on the side, but . . . .

http://torintools.en.alibaba.com/pr...4711_X_TBS4707_X_Tool_Box_Roller_Cabinet.html

it probably isn't the hf44, but it sure looks like it.

here is the top box:

http://torintools.en.alibaba.com/product/1510503815-802366371/Professional_rolling_cabinet.html

again, details are different, but . . . .

hey! the side boxes:

http://torintools.en.alibaba.com/product/1514120605-802366371/Professional_rolling_cabinet.html

http://torintools.en.alibaba.com/product/60476234305-802366371/Rolling_cabinet.html

now this is a nice 27" rolling cabinet. 10 levels of drawers. if they made a 6 or 8 drawer top . . . . the site is not easy to navigate . . . . .

http://torintools.en.alibaba.com/pr...71/Professional_chest_and_Roller_cabinet.html

is this the hd husky 41" cabinet?

http://torintools.en.alibaba.com/product/1510155378-802366371/Professional_rolling_cabinet.html

here is the best gallery i was able to find:

http://torintools.en.alibaba.com/collection_product/Roller_Cabinet/1.html?isGallery=Y

can't find any of the other hf boxes, likely i haven't found the right search term yet . . . .

i like how one description identifies one box as "NEW HOMAK LARGE 6 DRAWER TOOL BOX CHEST ROLLER CABINET"

sorry if everyone knows this but me . . . . .

Ya that Alibaba site has been known for selling look-a-likes. Even Matco wrenches and stuff like that. I think you can place an order and have whatever you want branded on the tools. Example: I could order "garage journal" branded wrenches if I like.

hmmm . . . . . ok, i looked at it differently.

- they identify themselves as "the largest tool box manufacturer in asia"

- they constantly mention that they will customize anything.

- they are located in china

- we know that the hf44 is made in china

- while i think it is completely reasonable to assume that hf would "customize" something like a big tool chest, either to "brand" it or to meet a price point, i dont think hf has people they employ to design things like this for them.

soooooo, i kinda thought that maybe this was the company that hf bought the 44" tool box from. they are not copying it, they designed it, and hf makes a few changes, and slaps a house brand label on it.

anyway, that is where i had gotten . . . .

PS: alibaba is just an commerce site, like ebay more than amazon. their only product is the web site, and they collect a small percentage of every sale. the vendor in question seems to have various trade names, but they have sold tool chests and boxes in the US under the Torin brand.

I never actually looked into it. I just remember reading something about them selling fake brand name tools.

So can you use 30 of them?

me? personally? nope. check my other posts, i am thrashing badly about what to do about my tool storage.

the only thing i am sure about at this point is that , from a linear floor space density point of view, you can't beat 26/27" cabinets for storage density. the longer the cabinet, the less square inches of space you seem to get per foot of width. (i have a spreadsheet that documents this if you are interested). they also seem to be more cost effective than larger boxes, on a price per square inch of shelving basis.

i'm northeast of boston. i am about as far from china as you can reasonably get and stay in the US. (ok, sure, maine.) if i could get them to configure some of that stuff to fit my needs, and get an order together, and it could be worked out so that the container could be picked up on the west coast, and driven east dropping stuff off here and there, i would be willing to keep the 20' shipping container so we didnt have to pay to ship it back empty.

yep, i am that kind of nice guy.
