Found a Kennedy BIG HORN line 3-drawer machinist chest today. Trying to date it. There's a "412" embossed on the clasp. Can anyone date it? It looks possible for wartime, but I'm not a Kennedy collector, and I have no references (catalog, ads, etc). Anybody?

The "412" may also be a code for the key type, since it's on the clasp. If you have a Kennedy box of any type, please take a moment to see if there's a number on the clasp, and, if so, and you also have a key (mine is missing), if it matches the number on the key. Thanks.

I saw you got the info you wanted on the cool box, but I looked on mine today. My K260 box has a "K" number on the lock assembly on the front cover. There are no clasps. My Kennedy 3 drawer machinist boxes (2 of them) don't appear to have a number on the clasp, though I haven't cleaned those up yet, and they are a bit rusty.

Lug: none look like the one you just got. Just replying for reference. The K260 pic is attached. The others are standard K620 units.

I presume or sale on the 2016 Garage Sale Thread?
Not sure what you're asking, Dennis. I got the chest at a flea market and yes, it's the same chest I reported on the Garage Sale 2016 thread.

Lug: Just replying for reference.
Thanks. I appreciate it. It's neat to see how the design evolved.
