I bought one for 49.99 for father in law Christmas! Plus paid $39.99 and joined the discount free shipping club. I bought my set at advance for $90 a year ago with the 60 tooth ratchets and I thought thatvwas good.

I had to call my order in. Northern site wouldn't open up PayPal or accept my credit card.

I nabbed one of the Gearwrench 118 piece sets for 49.99 and chose local store pick up to save the shipping costs. Seems like a decent deal to me. Thanks for posting gdocktor3!

You lucky ducks with the local stores near you. My nearest store is 510 miles away in VA. I'll pay for the shipping...

246402 gives you $20 off of $100. I bought two sets. One to sell for full price hopefully making mine free.

Thanks to the OP for the deal.

I'll be putting one in my truck for snowmobiling season.

Damn, my paypal transaction seems to be stuck on pending... Gotta do it through paypal since all my money is on there until payday lol. Looks like it cancels itself at 2am, hopefully the sale is still going on or they reply to my email. This set would be a great upgrade from the few craftsman taiwan rails I have now

I'd personally pass. All the 3/8th sockets are 12pt and there's only seven 1/2" sockets, also 12pt, and they're all imperial along with being the same size as the 3/8" imperials. Kind of a waste to even have the 1/2" even in the set.

Agreed. 12 point is junk.

Not all the 3/8" drive sockets are 12pt:

"3/8in. drive sockets: 6-point standard metric: 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19mm; 6-point deep metric: 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17mm"

I originally posted this on another thread for a new member looking to start a tool collection. I think for someone just starting off this is a really good deal. As time goes on one could ad the additional sockets, universals, etc etc as needed.

But I do think it's stupid to put 7 of the same sockets in 1/2" drive as there are in 3/8" drive. Why not fill in the missing sizes up to 1" or something? Oh well.
I wonder if the voids behind the deep sockets on the top section of the case are large enough to fit the large missing 1/2" sockets. 7/8", 15/16", 1".

Just go to google and type in "northern tool coupon code" and s bunch of sites pop up. I think you need to spend a certain amount for free shipping. I can't remember how much. $150 maybe

So it appears I'm getting my set after all lol. They really need to work on their paypal payment system because waiting for auth is confusing and weird. Still hasn't actually taken money out from my paypal, I think, but the 2 things there for this order from northern changed. At least it did give me some time to decide I want to flip this set and use the money to get the master socket sets instead.

Still waiting... Never thought it would take this long for a site to store order.

Went for a ride and picked mine up today (50 mile round trip). They had been in since the 6th. I lean towards the people who said the three 84 tooth ratchets are worth more than half the value. If I saw the ratchets packaged up separately at $29.99, I would have bought them, so everything else for $20 works for me. I actually needed a decent 18mm combo too.

Is there an easy way to disconnect the 2 halves of the case? Can I just pry the plastic hinge apart w/o destroying it?

Would be nice to be able to just lay the halves in my tool cart open faced.

FWIW, I put mine in the top of my black HF tool cart. Stays propped open just like the smaller one before it. I never close the top of my cart.

Gotta give a shoutout to Northern Tool CS. I ordered a Gearwrench ratcheting wrench set to go with the big tool set. It was short one wrench. Emailed them about it Sunday night and they had a replacement on its way to me Monday morning.
