I am looking for Pullers mainly 3 jaw and Large C-Clamps ie 12" - 16" with square cut threads only. I am a diesel mechanic so they are going to be used and abused as well so need to be good quality.

the original is still the best:
Owatonna Tool Company - aka "OTC"
Owatonna, Minnesota

Rueben A. Kaplan's "Grip-O-Matic" design remains the industry standard to this day.

Keep your eyes on Ebay listings under "Owatonna" and "OTC puller".
Many Ebay sellers have no clue about the connection between the two names and list high-end pullers under "Owatonna" dirt cheap every now and then.
I have three or four smaller models - never paid more than $28 (including shipping) for any of them.

C-clamps I have no clue. Mine are all old hand-me-downs I've acquired over the years.

quick search on Ebay for "Owatonna puller" turns up:

... there's a bunch more but they're overpriced. hang tight for the deals.

That's the key. Old C clamps, as long as they are still in great shape, are the best. The new ones are cheap but old ones at yard sales and flea markets are even cheaper.

... and after all that, I suppose I should also mention:

The Posi-Lock model #104 is probably one of the best tool purchases I have ever made.
Paid about $120 including tax for it over at Sears a few years ago.
Works every time without fail. Damn nice unit. I use it to remove blade adapters and drive pulleys from rusty beat-to-hell lawnmower engines that have been sitting out in the rain for years.
Only reason I picked up the Owatonna two-jaw models was because some of the oddball blade adapters require a lot of jackassing around to be able to get a bite with three jaws.

Check out their website: http://www.posilock.com/

Horrible Freight is a no go way too much pressure is applied to these things when i am using them to collapse hydraulics.

The posi lock does look nice but, once again square cut threads i do not see not sure if pictures are not great or they "updated" the model.

The forces generally put on these tools dealing with rusty beat to **** diesels is much much higher then anything automotive or lower guys run into. Industrial tools tend to work better but, any more half or more are complete garbage.

I spent about 4-6hrs and found Wilton still makes good C-clamps but, my god they are expensive look to be worth it though. Still no clue on pullers.

I don't think a square thread is what you want, but Proto advertises acme threaded forcing screws. Forged C-clamps are almost always acme threads, but you're going to pay for those.

Another vote for Posilock. We used them at work, and they do stay on. Used impact wrenches to drive them sometimes, without any failures.

I guess Acme would work though they always seem a little sloppy to me and are more of a pain to get them to clamp on something rounded.

I'll second the recommendation for Proto. They make excellent pullers. Old C-Clamps that are still in good shape are good, I also like Wilton C-Clamps. I'm not sure if they are USA or not though.

Much prefer the hydraulic forcing screw setup myself but has one major issue if your dealing with rusted to bits **** youll be more than likely using heat which will destroy the hydraulic forcing screw
