Ave showed one of these in his videos. I figured for under $15 you couldn't go wrong, and ordered one. Downloaded the software and plugged it in...works good. Waterproof and well lit. Haven't stuck it in an engine yet though.

Have any of you guys tried these? I figured I'd spread the word.

I've been wanting an Android tab for a while to run the torque app, the bore scope would be another useful tool. can you post some screen captures so we can see the image quality?

the tablets or phones have to have otg support for the usb camera to work. I doubt that the kindle fire has that feature turned on even if it has it. I have had a cheap one for a few years now, it has held up well and been a useful tool as a mechanic.

True, but a hell of a guy. Good at finding deals, as with those Chinese Flukes. I wish I was that skilled with electronics!

AvE - clearly knows what he is doing; sometimes he gets so into being clever with words only he thinks it's funny. Sometimes it is funny. Not family fare.....

Skookum is from a Northwest Indian language and translates to "Strong."

It is a compliment or term of admiration.

There is a brand of logging equipment (cable logging blocks, etc.) named Skookum.

Some of these are designed for android only, so they don't have any PC drivers. That being said, post your hardware ID (follow this link to see how to do it) and I will see if I can find some drivers for you. Since it is not installing, it should show up as an unkown device. If you don't have any unknown devices, it likely installed just fine. In that case, you likely need some secondary viewing software (which might not exist) but you can try webcam viewing software to see if it works (it often does).

The camera is low quality. This is pretty much standard for any borescope I have seen. They are intended for viewing stuff close up in tight spaces. They pretty much all do that acceptably well but **** for any other use. Using it on the computer instead of a smartphone also makes it look even worse.

Exactly. Inside of that Farmall M looked pretty good up close. I had the brightness cranked up; you could make out pretty good details
