I used the Craftsman creeper yesterday to change the oil on my old motor-bike. It may have been one of the only times it was ever used since whenever it was new. It certainly was a lot nicer than laying on cardboard or the floor like I usually do....

Love the old adverts . Do the crazy wheels make a difference ? They look like they would cut thru a power cable if you weren't careful

If you read the Smash-Proof advertisements about both styles of casters you can get the ideas behind both.

The larger wheel would roll easily on floors in poor shape or rough concrete. The Smash-Proof with the small wheels would probably be frustrating on a rough or cracked floor. So depending on what sort of floor you have you may be able to use one or the other. If I had a really smooth floor I would probably want the small diameter flat wheels, on an older or rough concrete I would go with the biggest diameter wheel I could find.

Maybe we need a "Let's See Your Vintage Creeper" Thread!

I have 2 Craftsman Crown label creepers, a Champion spark plug one and a few others.

I found this Heads-Up creeper in the back of a pickup at the wrecking yard. It was missing the larger piece of plywood. I replaced that with a chunk of 1/4" walnut ply, but it is on the wimpy side. It does blend well with the rest of the aged wood though. The headrest has several height options.

If you find an old NAPA store they might have replacements in stock, or they may be able to order them. I like the handle built in to this creeper.

Picked this up. Needs casters, they replaced the original ones with plastic casters. No good!

I've taken some off of furniture dolly's to use, ended up being cheaper than ordering them.

I've got a GI-GR-NITE like in the OP's first post. I restored it as best I could, (most of the effort ion the metal parts) the wood I just cleaned as best I could.

As creepers go this one is great. I like my sheet of tread mill plastic or the plastic house door sheet better for most jobs though. much easier sliding, and much lower profile! ;)

Here's my Jeepers Creeper. I don't use it but it didn't sell at my last sale so it still lives here.2c751aff8fafe4f5ccf7bcba7412c4ca.jpg
I also have another vintage creeper but can't remember the name right now. I may remember to post a picture when I get to my shop later.
My user is a snap on, also pretty old so I might put that one up too.

That's almost identical to the one I had from my teens til about 5-6 years ago. I wasn't sorry to see it go away at all!

One of my friends has one of these old snap on creepers and plans to repurpose it as a piece to hold wrenches and sockets on the wall.

C'mon guys! I know there's more of these old creepers hiding out there! Let's see 'em!

This Cornwell creeper followed me home today. Well built with thick wood slats. Love the integrated handle.

I have a Geiger creeper that's similar with steel corners. This style is made with hardwood slats, and they were advertised that they could be run over without damage. They're a bit heavy but sturdy. I paid $10 for mine.

Here's one I made up a long time ago. It had to be minimum width and height to get me under my old trucks.

Was Geiger the OEM? Or is that an auto parts seller brand? Because I noticed that Unaiu's Cornwell and the BALKAMP (originally shown on page 1, shown again in a reply on the top of page 2) were made by the same OEM.

I've got these two, branded PIONEER (made by P. & B. Specialities in Phila., Pa.) and Snap-on that are nearly identical. The Snap-on is the adjustable heads-up type, the PIONEER isn't. Let's face it, creepers are fairly basic construction, in which one would expect a lot of basic similarities, but it would be interesting to find out if there were a few main suppliers for a good many of the tool mfgrs and auto parts stores.

I bet you're right, Lugz. Another similarity from this thread is the Snap On creeper at post #23 with the gold colored headrest and the Crowntop logo Craftsman creeper at post #26, identical construction, also with the gold colored headrest. :headscrat

Geiger is different from Cornwell in the steel corners. They're larger and beefier.

Lisle sells replacement creeper wheels. I prefer the all steel traditional ones:

This may be sacrilege mentioning this in this thread but I always wanted to "panel" one wall of my workshop out of old wood creepers.
