I heard this modelmaker is so committed to verisimilitude that he sprinkled a tiny amount of asbestos dust throughout this little old timey workshop.

I should go take some pix of my shop. They look like that. Serious.

The one thing to remember, tho, is back then, shops were smaller (because cars were smaller), and when you get to something like mine (pre-automobile 1870's) it's downright tiny - you didn't need that much space for horses or buggies...

But I wouldn't trade it for nothing. Thinking about putting a larger pole barn in for storage and for cars, but I love my hideyhole!

Wow these are done in HO scale 1:87 they are tiny. Crazy amount of skill and patience involved.

If you're interested in models and dioramas fellas you should take a trip to a few larger tractor shows and/or model engineering shows, you'll see many similar dioramas set up with FUNCTIONAL models.

Very cool ! I have always wanted to make a diorama of an old 50's era Texaco station. I don't know if I will ever actually have the time or not, though. I can't imagine how many hours of work went into the examples shown here.

On the 1/87th work...I spent some time looking for "tells," things I could tell were miniature. These sorts of things are generally easy to find even in 1/25th...
I did not find much. The hanging head gaskets or one thing...they are too thick...but what is 1/87th of an eighth of an inch and how would you achieve that???
also some of the Model A wheels had spokes that looked too thick...but by only as much as they show in 1/25th!! Astounding work.

Remember that old show Supermarket Sweep,give me 10 minutes in there with an opened door van,and i will show you how to clean up tools,definitely way faster then i do now! Sometimes it takes me days,i would have that ride loaded down packed to the roof in under 10 minutes.
