Does anyone have any evaluative comments on the Omega 26030 3 ton aluminum floor jack based on experience or just reviewing information about the jack online? I apologize if I missed something, but I haven't been able to find much in the way of reviews of this jack here or elsewhere on the internet.
Please assume I have a valid reason for wanting a 3 ton floor jack that doesn't weigh 100 pounds plus or even 70 or 80 pounds, that the jack will not see heavy use, and that I want a very reliable, quality jack that will last a long time and that I'm willing to pay an appropriate premium for a jack that offers something more than aluminum jacks that cost less but don't want to pay a premium for re-branding of something that is equivalent to a cheaper jack.
I'm asking about this jack for a few reasons. Compared to other 3 ton aluminum jacks I've seen discussed, the specs for this jack show a good lifting range, at 44 pounds (subject to verification) it is about ten pounds or so lighter, and Hiball has said he likes the Omega line because of U-cup seals. I'm not sure how the hydraulics in this jack stack up against Hiball's preference for simplicity, which he argues generally makes for a more reliable jack.
As I understand it, Omega is a Shinn Fu brand that is in the upper end of jacks made in China.
This jack appears to run $335 from some online sources, but one is Zoro that often runs discounts around 25-30 percent for purchases of that size, which would bring the jack to around $250 delivered from them (they currently have it backordered). Zoro says they have a number of orders for it and that it sells well, but no one has reviewed it on their website.
