I picked up this sand blast cabinet for cheap a couple of years ago but never used it because it didn't work very well. The original design was to shove the siphon tube into the blast media at the bottom of the cabinet but it never worked effectively, the tube would always move around or would siphon erratically. To remedy this, I permanently relocated the siphon tube to the outside by drilling through the front and inserting it into the bottom reservoir. I drilled through the pipe cap and inserted the tube about two inches into the reservoir then sealed it with silicone. I then added a longer piece of tubing and routed it and the air line through the front. Now I have a cabinet that works!

Nice! I ended up converting my cabinet into a pressure pot and it works much better than it did from the start.

Why didn't you drill it from the side? doesn't the tube get in the way?

The reservoir "drain plug" dictated the position of the tube. The tube doesn't really get in the way that much, for the amount that its used it isn't a problem.
