Yesterday after church I headed for the local fall consignment sale. When I checked it out last week there were some older tools that appeared well cared for, plus some other items. Came from an estate where the guy must have been a machinist or tool maker from the looks of other things.

I've been putting together some tools so when my 8 year old grandson gets just a bit older he can start working on 'his' Model A pickup from his own tool box - already picked up an old Craftsman top/bottom to redo.

First up was a Bonney A2 set. Had one additional socket, A21, 21/32. Did not have the breaker bar that originally came with it, but a 4097 ratchet with two extensions, 4090 and 4091. A couple of the sockets still have the original decals/stickers on them. $22.50

I'll have to do multiple posts for the pictures of everything.

Next item that appeared was an SK socket set box in good condition. But the contents were Bonney and other items.

The 4096 breaker bar, with 4092 cross handle and 4095 universal. Then the 11 deep sockets. From the one catalog I looked at Bonney did not make a 7/16 deep socket in 1/2 inch drive - there was a Walden 3314 that appears unused with the set.

Also in this box was a Snap On 67 ratchet attachment. Also a Williams SC-8 adjustable crows foot - can't say as I had ever seen or heard of one of these before. Also 3 SK sockets 15/16, 1, 1 1/16. Another guy ran me up on this one to $37.50

Pretty soon another SK socket box came out. But this one held 4 Bonney Open End wrenches. Not much action - $9

Shortly after an SK 1/4 inch drive box came out, with two breaker bars in it, one ratchet and an almost double set of sockets. I forgot to get a picture of that one - was $24

The final item came in a machinist's chest I was the high bidder on. I'll just say I basically paid what the box is worth on the low end - and it was full of mostly machinist tools.

But in one drawer was a Bonney No 16 Electrical Set, from what I can find. Plus it had one additional small wrench, an H-10. Pictures below.

I also picked up two brand new replacement doors for my 86 F-350. Only two of us wanted them an the other guy dropped out at $40 each. Still in cardboard and obviously sitting for a long time, from the dust on them. But pristine.

So all in all a good afternoon at a good auction. Now just to find some more wrenches......

Two thumbs up on those grabs!

Old Bonney stuff in an S-K box - doesn't get much nicer than that. :lol_hitti

The electrical set is just AMAZING! Actually, all of it is.
My personal favorite is the Zenel DOEs. Like Username said, if you're considering reselling, I'm interested in those DOEs. The one 11" has a blemish over the part# - 303??

That adjustable crows foot can fetch a $100 on eBay. Nice find.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm a user, not a collector - so most of it will go into the tool set I'm building for my grandson - if he cuts his teeth working on a Model A it might as well be with period tools. Couple of the items will go into my box to use - the Williams adjustable crows foot and the Snap on ratchet adapter. And I fired a note to Username on the electrical set - that is just too nice to use and should go to a collector.

LesserSon - The wrench you questioned is a 3033C - 15/16 X 1

Thanks, Dale. Those Zenel decals are in great shape. Must have been lightly, or at least carefully used and stored.
Congratulations; your grandson will sure have top-quality tools to work with, and appreciate them because they come from you.
