I can't believe how absolutely filthy that place was. Everything is covered in what appears to be grinding dust, with fillets of **** between the machines and the floor!

Obviously, they were running flat-out on the edge for a while. Or maybe there never was a sense of pride there?

Whatever the case, I'm amazed at the filth. All it takes is 15 minutes a day and a box of rags to keep things clean. Clean working conditions promote pride and craftsmanship, improve morale, and results in a better overall product. Before I started my business, I had the displeasure of working in a filthy shop. What a downer to go into work every day.

Still, it's unfortunate.

Sad to see it go. But even worse is the 12.5% buyers fee plus I imagine
same to Crane. 25% right off the top to a crapola auction company. Sadder
yet,I'll be there circling with the rest of the buzzards.:(

Anything you're looking for in particular?

I'd be interested to hear what things go for and the general atmosphere.

I can't imagine too many peole have much use for cam grinders, especially old crusty ones. I skimemd 1/2 the pictures, judging by the way things were apparently taken care of most people wouldn't trust much that came out of those doors.

I know that Crane did alot of cam grinding for the OEM's and alot of other cam companies for that matter, got to wonder who's doing all that work now??

Old and crusty for certain. The white porch paint slathered on the machines is included at no cost. :lol_hitti

If they still had "all that work", I somehow doubt they'd be auctioning everything off, down to the coffee pot and beer fridge. :)

I suspect the scrappers will be out in force. But who knows... I was at an auction of a small fab shop a while back. They went nutzo. OBI presses with welded frames, old MIG welders that looked like they fell off the back of a truck at speed, rusty mills lubed with axle grease, etc. I left about a hundred lots in, the bidding was just crazy. The one item I was interested in, a 45kva spot welder, went for twice the average Ebay price.

I guess a few guys could still weasel a few bucks out of their banks. Better them than me! :wtf:

just wait a week and you will see that stuff flood ebay

bob

I heard stuff was on Ebay the day following the auction.

I saw some photos of the shop and equipment from somebody who was there. The equipment looked even crappier than in the auction listing!

Got mine home now, save for some pallet racks.Crappy is in the eye of the
beholder, they were blowing this stuff out cheap. $10 for the 1hp grinder
and stand, and the contents of the dyno room for less than what I could
flip the toolbox for. It'll take me a month to sort through and clean it up though.
