A big thank you go's to Ty of the Wright Tool Company for giving me a full access tour. He answered all my questions and absolutely everyone on the floor was friendly and very accommodating. If you have any questions hopefully Ty can jump in and give you the scoop. I was just in awe for most of it and happy I got some photo's out of it.
Ty did say they would be interested in a Wright Tool day and I suggested setting it up through Harry J. Epsteins and even stated Wright Tool would be interested in having a open house type of event at the factory so everyone could see it in person.

Nice. Would love to go on a tour of Wright facility. I am too far away.

Wow, that factory is MUCH cleaner and neater than New Britain was when I worked there. They get an A+ for a neat facility.

Thanks Wright! Very nice pictures. I especially like pictures of factories that still rely heavily on humans to make their products.

OP, I noticed you included some Wrightgrip 2.0 wrench pictures, but it looks like in all the excitement you "accidentally" forgot to take us a picture of the open end of the new wrenches. The new open ends are all strangely hidden, off in the background, or out of focus. :lol_hitti

That's some amazing equipment. I couldn't stop looking at the large crown nuts holding back the large springs on the sides of the hammer forges in those pics. The little HF benchtop drill press (on wire brush duty) made me laugh too.

Ty let me look over the the new WRIGHTGrip 2.0 very closely and I did take photo's of the new open head design but I just cropped it out of the photo "accidentally"
Ty told me they periodically have to replace the floor under the hammer forges and they are layered railroad ties, gravel & concrete.

Thanks for sharing. How did you get them to let you take pictures?

Begging through e-mail :)
I was really worried how the photo's would turn out but I'm pretty happy with them. I mainly shoot motocross & wildlife and rarely do any kind of indoor photo's.

If that doesn't make you want to give harbor freight the finger and buy some good ole quality made in usa tools, nothing will.

Although our headquarters is in the U.S.A., our reach is global. We're supporting the global infrastructure with reach in areas such as Dubai, Spain, and Russia.

We make heavy-duty hand tools you have come to depend on in industries such as Refinery, Power Generation, Distribution & Transmission, Mining, and Wind Turbines. All around the world end-users know if they need a heavy-duty hand tool they can rely on and keep them safe, they need a Wright Tool

Love to see U.S. Manufacturing at work. Very cool of them to take you around and let you take some pics to share. I bet you felt like a celebrity. I have a decent spattering of Wright and it's cool to see where they were made. The next Wright tool I buy will be the 42" long 3/4 drive ratchet. What a beast!

I would also like to see Wright make a line of long pattern wrenches. Even if they do like other companies and offer the long pattern combo wrenches in limited size ranges, say 10mm-19mm in metric and 3/8"-1" in SAE. I'd be on board for a set of each.

Count me and the wife in for the tour. I bet my dad would go too. Were only a couple hours away.

It was great to have Mark visit today. I can count on one hand the amount of "end users" I've given tours to in the last 10 years. And I can count on two fingers the people I've let take pictures. Hopefully that tells you how important it was to me to have Mark come in and represent the entire GJ family and share it with all of you. The other one was the video producer of the new video we just released. I gave Mark a little background on myself, but I figured I'd let you all know as well.

1) I've been with Wright Tool for almost 10 years. Played baseball and graduated from a Division 2 University in Canton Ohio, Walsh University in 2003. Started running the marketing department in 2007 (because I couldn't get in at Wright), and have transitioned into various sales/marketing roles over the years. Currently responsible for the Marketing and National Accounts relationships.

2)I've been "around" Wright Tool since I was born. My Grandparents, Terry and Pat Taylor own Wright Tool, and purchased it from Richard B. Wright in 1999. My Grandparents have over 100 years combined tenure at Wright, with my Grandmother being the longest tenured employee at 53 years. We are the last family owned, full line (wrenches, ratchets, sockets) mechanics hand tool manufacturer in the United States. My father, Brent Smith, runs the manufacturing facility.

3) We focus on HD Industrial and Construction markets. Hence, the 4" combination wrench you saw Mark holding. However, all of the tools that we all use in our "garage" are made and available by us. We just don't have the amount of "specialty" tools that the truck brands do. It's not our market. Never has been and never will be.

4) I'd be glad to help organize a "GJ day" at the plant and partner with Harry Epsteins with some killer promotions on tools. Tour, cookout, etc. Anyone interested?

That's very impressive. Did you happen to "hint" at what they did with their defective or flawed tools?

The way Ty was talking about the 2.0's on the other thread I thought it was a top secret and still being designed. Guess you are the first consumer who's laid eyes on them.

Those weren't defective or flawed, those were production wrenches. He just left out the details...

I'm in. Only a short drive for me from Cleveland. Plus I always look for a reason to buy more tools. I ALWAYS try to support family businesses. As I am a small business owner myself. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to more Wright purchases soon.

So it's safe to say you will continue the legacy, and pass on to your kids? While I am not against a GJ day with HJE at all, would anyone else be interested in looking around for another small distributor who's barely hanging on by a thread? GJ has drummed up a ton of business for HJE with SK Day and what not, perhaps a Wright Tool Day with another small company could help turn business around for them as well. I'm sure we've all lost a local, small time company we've loved to the big box bandits... Just an idea...

I would be very interested in it myself, I cant make the tour and cookout, but an online promotion I would love.
