I want to revise my user name to one I use on a number of other forums on the internet. I can't register a new name on garagejournal because it says my email address is already in use.

Change your current email to a different email and then register a new name under your desired email?

Ask a moderator they can do it for you.
Only Ryan, the board owner can change your name. From what I understand from previous threads, it isn't high on his priority list

That is correct, only Ryan can change a user name.
A word to the wise, don't open a second account just for the username.
