Just giving you guys the heads up just in case you didn't know you can order hard handled ratchets off the Snap on website. All you need to do is type part # in the search catalog spot in top right and they will pop up in the different colors just no pics and just add them to cart and then check out your done. Oh and by adding the first letter to color you want after part # let's say g for green or b for blue.
They are not rare my snap on guy has a bunch as well but I know how a bunch of people try to say they, are when selling them specially eBay or think they are well they are not let me tell you even the pink which I just bought off truck.

Part # FHD80G gets you a 3/8" Drive Hard Handle Ratchet, replacing G with R or O gets you the different color variatoins. This is (I assume) for a standard length ratchet w/o Flex Head... I've had no luck finding anything else.

1/4" Hard Handle Ratchets*********

THLD72 - Long Non Flex
THLFD72 - Long Flex
THNFD72 - Swivel ("Roto") Head
THD72-12 - Replacement Handle

3/8" Hard Handle Ratchets*********

FHD80 - Standard
FHLD80 - Long
FHKFD80 - Short Flex
FHFD80 - Standard Length Flex
FHLFD80 - Long Flex
FHNFD100 - Swivel ("Roto") Head
FHD80-12 - Replacement Handle

The above list of hard handle ratchet part numbers should all come up on Snap-on's site. They should be available to order in whatever colors pull up for that specific part number. Obviously each part number is missing the last letter(s) that denote handle color. By looking them up without indicating color all currently available to order options will come up.

Your Snap On dealer may be able to get some color options not listed on the site but don't hold your breath. In some cases the replacement handle may be available in your color choice and can easily be swapped onto a ratchet that was originally a hard handled model.

For those wondering I'm not aware of any 1/2" hard handle ratchets currently available.

They just brought the FHKFD80 (stubby flex) and FHFD80 (standard flex) out in 9 colors at their convention. These 2 part numbers have the best availability of in stock colors on the site. I would expect to see them available for awhile. 9 colors also were initially available in the SDDX70A 7 pc. hard handled screwdriver set.

The THLFD72 and FHLFD80 seem to be always available to order in at least a couple colors as well. The 2 roto or swivel head ratchets I previously listed are only available in green.

The big story here are the replacement handles though. Now that Snap-on brought hard handled 3/8 ratchets out in 9 colors including the pearls: blue, white and pink, you can order a replacement handle and change out an older worn or damaged one on any ratchet that originally came with a hard handle.

I had to get all my pink from my snap on guy I got everything he had for my wife, any special color other than basic red, blue, green, orange, black is dealer only getting a retired red white and blue instinct screwdriver set from him soon and he said he has kept them a year and others have tried buying them but he wouldn't sell also any truck brand ratchet he gets on trade is saved for me and I pay $10 and about to buy a new box for his cost because I've helped him get a drag racing sponsorship. I made damn sure I became friends with him lol so we could get deals also when it comes to green plier sets you can only get around fathers day he says but he has other snap on dealer connections and scored me a set and yours can also I'm sure.

Dang it!!! That's what I was really hoping for. The old man has a bad a** 1/2" flex head hard handle in black that I can't convince him to sell to me.

My dealer told me the hard handles weren't available in green.. So I just bought a FHLL80 3/8 with the black/green soft grip. Does anyone know which part number would be the correct replacement for the green hard handle?

So the correct part number for the green hard handle would be FHD80-12G however it isn't currently available to order on the SO website. If you give that part # to your dealer he may be able to order one.

You should know though that if you want to put a hard handle on a ratchet that came originally with a soft grip handle you will have to shorten the shank part of the ratchet that presses into the handle and modify the inside diameter of the hard handle.
