For cleaning dirty hands use Swave shampoo
for nitrell gloves I use the green gloves New Pig sells then come in medical sizes not s-xl and provide a better fit.
for transcendental hand and tool cleaning I really like Safety Clean's Orange Wipes they are the bomb

For hand cleaner the Worx brand is good. The cleaners with ground up nut shells works good also--like the Snap On Nitro Gold.

Zep cherry bomb, Zoyl soybased hand cleaner.

If you get some hand cleaner you can't stand, put your gloves on and use it to cleand your tools. Beats throwing it away.

not the best or for every day use...but in a pinch the other day I was at a metal supplier and got my hands filthy....I didnt want to just jump into my truck and F!@# up my steering wheel and interior...All I had was a couple paper towels and purell hand sanitizer...worked freaking great! got all the rust and grease right off. I was surprised. In a pinch it worked great.

Every day use in my garage I have a hand soap container filled up with regular old antibacterial dish soap, (apple I think) LOL. Works great at getting grease and whatever gunk I have on my hands off. Nothing glamours or special, but it works for me. Cheap also. I pick up big bottles of it at target for $2.

As for the nitrile gloves, I use two kinds. When I need a tough glove that wont tear or break 99% of the time I have Derma-max 8mil. Freaking tough gloves! But they are a pain to take off and put on. For lighter jobs I use Renown Gen purpose nitrile, not sure the mil rating but they feel half as thick and durable as the derma-max ones. I have a case of each. That should last me a while.

For hand cleaning - Spray can of scrubbing bubbles and paper towels.

Joy dish washing soap and hot water if I'm at a sink.

Keep your finger nails trimmed SHORT.

GoJo or whatever followed by dish soap. Nail brush helps a lot.

Microtouch brand seems best to me, but I'm still working through a couple boxes of HF cheapo dual layer nitrile / latex gloves. Sometimes I will wear a set of heavy gloves, leather work gloves when handling junk, Playtex dish washing gloves when any of the thin gloves would fail to hold up long.

I really prefer Fast Orange with pumice. It's not petroleum based and is biodegradable. I like that it doesn't leave a greasy residue. I like it much better than Goop.
As a hobbyist it works well for me. Otherwise I've been wanting to try some Zep stuff.

Dura Block makes a bar thats called Dura Scrub its a bar of soap with kinda like a soft scotch brite pad molded in, its the best way to clean your arms and hands I've ever seen. The Cornwell guy carries it.

Joy or dawn if I'm at home. Gojo or Fast Orange if I need to cut through heavier grease. Industrial bathroom hand soap at work.

Gloves: I prefer Kimberly Clark nitriles, but Microflex are good too.

For hand cleaning - Spray can of scrubbing bubbles and paper towels.

Isn't scrubbing bubbles moderately toxic?!!

I also use Boraxo, it does a better job than any gel type cleaner and is easy on your skin. I have friends that use a myriad of hand cleaner, none sem to work as well as the old 40 Mule team. For gloves I use the Horrible Fright blue gloves, not great but cheap, I use a few pairs at a time due to tears but even the good gloves tear in my experience.

Joe's hand cleaner (green label) with pumice! And these gloves are the best I have ever used. I use the same pair multiple times before trashing them. Stand up well to paints, laquer thinner, bondo. I like the added length, use with a long sleeve shirt and they cover to the sleeve.

Kresto hand cleaner is what I use. I have not found one that works better yet.

Our company has a national account with Cintas. Cintas provides our shop rags, rugs, hand soap, and bathroom freshener (uniforms, coveralls, and jackets also) Kresto is the brand they supply and it works great.

Lemon Dawn and a kitchen scrubber sponge is all I've ever used in the shop.

Cheap orange pumice cleaner and a damp rag on the road.

:+1: Zep Cherry Bomb for hand cleaner. However, it is hard on your skin after awhile.

For nitrile gloves, I try to use Best brand. They're US made, come in assorted mil thicknesses, and last slightly longer then their Malaysian on PRC counterparts. They still tear but, at least not putting them on from the box.

Snap on Nitro Gold is the best soap I have ever used. Its not cheap, but a $25 container lasts me over a year, and I wash my hands a lot. Its well worth the expense. When the $25 price tag holds you over for more than a year, it really isnt all that bad of a value.

Another for the Fast Orange hand cleaner. I keep it in the laundry room at the sink, and another one in the shower for those times I've been bear hugging and wrestling transmissions, heads, rear end housings, etc. and have grease up past my elbows, on the back of my neck from rolling it it, on my knees, shins... I make hot rodding a full contact sport.

What I REALLY love is the tub of Fast Orange hand wipes. It's remarkable what they'll scrub off your hands. I don't have a sink in the shop, so I'm always grabbing them. They clean as well as soap and water. I keep the small individual packets of them in my tool box for junk yarding trips or on the road fixes. All of my friends who have come to my shop eventually have bought a bucket of them for their garage. It's like "wet wipes" for guys.

+1 on the Fast Orange with pumice. If I know I'm going to get into the funky grease off an axle, steering rack, etc, I'll lather up before hand with Goop and not wipe it off. That thin layer keeps the heavy junk from sticking and when I'm done the Fast Orange takes care of whatever is left.

Biggest mistake? After you're greasy, trying to use water in any way shape or form to wash.
