I've seen folks post before that they wish Milwaukee would add a boot for the M12 Ratchet to their lineup. I'm in that camp now since I use my ratchet to regularly remove and install some panel fasteners, and the mechanism in the head likes to leave some zig-zag scratches in the paint.

EDIT: Snap-on YA905 is a fit. Thanks to Bobioz1 for finding it.

I've searched and was hoping someone had already tried and found one that fits, but no luck (let me know if I'm wrong, and I'll shut this post down).

With the number of folks here, it seems there's a chance some of you own one (or more) of the ratchets these boots are made for. I figured we could put together some measurements and might be able to find one that (maybe even with a little modification) will fit the Milwaukee. Worth a try I guess, and thanks in advance.

Here are the measurements for the M12:
Milwaukee 3/8" Ratchet 2457-20
Head Width: 29.5mm
Head Thickness: 19mm
Neck: 23mm
Top of head to base of neck: 52mm

I just got my friend a new case which costs $7...something because oil and stuff took the rubber grip completely off.

Hey i talked to the guy's at Milwaukee and they are supposed to get back with me. They thought it an interesting question we will have to see what they come up with. I would probably let them do their marketing but see if there is enough interest here?!! I will let you now.

You should tell them to make boots for the m18 batteries..

I actually just emailed Milwaukee a few hours ago.. not expecting much of a response, but basically I have an idea for an accessory, and accessory package they could make for an existing tool, and with no change to the tool at all, they could utilizing that existing tool in a way none of these tool companies have ever thought of before.. Milwaukee, Dewalt, and makita all make a version of this, and NONE of them seem to have realized that for pennies they could change their tools into something much more valuable for a certain professional field, compete with a dedicated system that sells for 5-10x what their current tool sells for, and be the only hand held cordless model that exists. Not to mention making a simple tool dual purposed for pennies..

Yea.. I had a brain storm today lol... It's something so stupid and so simple I'm surprised the product development teams from any of these places haven't thought of it.. what's funny too, is Milwaukee is actively targeting this field already..

I'll see if they respond I guess.. the worst thing is trying to convey what you want to tell them in their "512 character limit" when you contact them..

You looking for a 7/16" hex adapter for your 1/2" drive M18 impact?

Was on the Snap On truck today and thought about this thread. Found the boot for the FAR2500 is a perfect fit. Part# is YA905 and lists for $5.15.

Ha, you're way off.. Milwaukee makes a dedicated 7/16 hex drive fuel impact. I have it.. an adapter would never be practical anyway. The hex drive is too deep and the adapter would wobble like nobody's business. They do make a 1/4" hex drive to 3/8" square drive adapter, and even that wobbles with 1/4" hex drive bits, so forget about trying to put an 18" drill bit on something.

Our standard stuff is 5/8" hex drive anyway at work. Milwaukee used to make a cordless impact, but only makes a corded one now.. they are pretty good.. don't think I mentioned it would be useful in my line of work, it might be something completely unrelated.. :)

I have not heard back from Milwaukee yet, might not ever.. would be a shame.

Finally got mine installed. First one that showed up already had a tear in it, so returned and ordered another. Fits like a glove. Thanks again to Bobioz1 for finding the fit.:rocker:
