Jacuzzi Primo showerhead / hand shower combo marked down 70% to $18. Reviews are low but it seems the installers were the problem. In 5 minutes I was able to replace the old hand shower with the new Jacuzzi hand shower+ hose hand-tightened with no leaks onto the old mount. Everyone loves the water output. Saving the fixed showerhead for another project.

one store near me the whole redheads section is on clearance but none of the prices are as much as 5% marked down yet. changing vendors or changing products due to code perhaps.

Thanks, does anyone know where these are made in? The 7-piece is made in Taiwan.

My local Lowe's had these on sale. Bought me a set. Pretty good set, bought one at this same price a year ago.

OK, maybe this has been brought up before (sorry!)

But what's the deal with the yellow tags marked "new lower price" vs "clearance". I think the "new lower price" tags are a newish development, whereas previously there was only "clearance" tags?

It seems like the "new lower price" tags are meant to show permanent price drops on various items, whereas "clearance" tags are meant to show, well, clearance pricing for discontinued products.

The fact that both types of tags are nearly-identical looking (yellow) makes it seem like certain items (like the porter-cable item posted above) are a special deal when in fact it is the current regular price. It also makes it harder to identify actual clearance items in the store.

Anyone have any insight on this?

It probably is meant to confuse people thinking it's clearance or even just on sale...

Lowes is kind of weird like that. I've seen stuff labeled new lower price with no date. But I've also seen new lower price + was *** save 15% thru 03/1/2017.... So who really knows... It's all just marketing gimmicks...

I bought a set of both the metric and SAE last week. COO is China. At this price, they are cheaper then Harbor Freight and if they break I'll see how good the Lowe's warranty works.

sometimes the price drops are permanent or semi-permanent. usually they are seasonal, or for a set time but they don't print the date on the sticker if it's longer than a month.

prime example the porter cable drill press & bandsaw. they just went back up from their 'new lower price' that I think started in november. since it wasn't in the sales ad, wasn't really actively advertised as a sale, just lower price during the holidays, the stickers had no date and the price drop although temporary was considered in their system 'semi permanent' because they aren't seasonal items and lasted longer than the sale paper.

you sometimes see the big green signs (typically % off something) like now there is 10% off 12/2 and 10/2 250 ft rolls. not advertised but not changed on the sticker either. this will eventually replace all the 'semi permanent' new lower price so there's less sticker changes, but for now it's kind of an awkward system for them also.

And their primary 7-Piece Ratcheting Set (sold throughout the year) is still Made in Taiwan. I don't know if it is an indicator that they will be switching suppliers soon. Good thing Kobalt has a lifetime warranty and ratcheting mechanisms on wrenches are always prone to failure especially when it boils down to price.

If you look on the tags, if the item is a legit clearance blowout there will be a small "n" underneath the model / sku / etc. N means non-stock which it will not be replaced.

Skydrop smart irrigation controller $99 is the new price. They must have a new unit coming out. However, this unit is fantastic and looks very sharp.

Torin 1/2" socket strip, 585348, is $1.80 at my local Lowes. Various stores around have different clearance prices, but original price was $15 or so.

Wow, never had them steal my items. My 2 Lowes, rarely have the items clearance priced though. Had a few managers get pretty ****** with me when I asked them if
I could have the clearance price.
I did get lucky once, and got the Biesemeyer fence for $80.00!!
30" rail I think it was/is. (Got it on my 1947 Uni)
and another time got the delta mobile base for $10.00.

Wow. Way cheaper than my store.

I came here to post the Torin rails.

3/8" for $10.79
1/2" for $7.19

Regardless a good price and I bought all they had.

I would be willing to trade a 3/8" for a 1/4" if someone has an extra.

Hmm, maybe I should not be complaining about $2.80 at a farther store ;-)

Edit: they cancelled the order, they "can't find" the 12 they had in stock at $2.80. Here we go again....

Yeah, those PC compressors usually hover around the $99 mark, even at HD...

During holiday sales they will usually bundle them with a finishing nailer and something else (don't remember).

Well I'm not surprised. They couldn't find my 4 3/8" socket holders either, but they found the more "expensive" ones they said.
