It all starts about 3 years ago. We had completely outgrown our old house which our family of 4 had lived in for the last 11 years. So we put it up for sale and started the journey to finding a new one. The real estate market in California was starting to boom again and there was no inventory. Anything that went on the market was sold within a week and usually went into a bidding war. There were a few important things that we had to have in a new house. At least 4 bedrooms, a 3 car garage, a pool and a decent sized yard. We missed out on a couple of opportunities, but weren't overly disappointed. In my mind that meant we hadn't actually found the right one yet. Then a couple weeks later, a house popped up. It was perfect. We went and saw it within hours of it going on the market. An offer was made (which required some very tricky negotiating). And within two weeks we had closed escrow and the house was ours. The first few posts will be more history of the last three years until now.
