Well, I spent a few hours today replacing the infamous intake gaskets on my 71 C20 (with 99 Suburban L31 engine/trans). I did everything by the book. Everything worked out well....EXCEPT....when removing the rubber water line from the front of the manifold, I managed to twist the steel water heater line that comes up from the water pump. Now it leaks there, at the spot where the steel tubing pushes into the top of the pump. I have tried a couple of glues (Seal All and 2 part epoxy), but it doesn't want to seal, it still sweats from the joint.

Any clues as to how I can re-seal this?

That stuff kicks ***

I once fixed a head gasket leak ( a pretty bad one at that) with JB Weld. It was on the side of the head so I was able to smear the stuff on the side of the head and stop the leak. Amazing.

I've never had good luck with JB. I'll give it a shot though...Hell, I've tried just about everything else. Most suff seems to hold for a while, then starts leaking....I'm thinking that the different rates of expansion is breaking the seal.
I guess if all else fails I can tap the hole and put a fitting there....

I'd try good ol' Permatex #2-it's a non-hardening thread sealant that should seal up that interference fitted tube to the cast.
Word of warning-don't get it on yourself or anywhere you don't want it-it doesn't come off until it wears off.
