Plomb ratchet guts question

Picked up a Plomb wf-38 1/2 ratchet today. Prawls are not kicking in. Looks like there is a flat spring the ines the inside of the ratchet and the ends push up on them much like proto uses the little cone springs to engage the prawls. I think I simply need to bend the tips of the rund spring to get it working again. Just want to make sure that is correct and it is not missing parts.

I am not super knowledgable on plumb, but have heard they are almost identical to the protos... even think i remember reading somewhere that rebuild kits were interchangable(i could be wrong)

looks like you could use some springs like the protos.... or possibly the horseshoe shaped piece might be able to be tweaked to apply tension as the springs in the protos would

I agree with olds394... it does look very dry inside....

Interesting picture there. The Plomb WF ratchets that I have taken apart had the cone shaped coil springs like Proto's. I have never seen that flat spring style before. I may take all mine apart now to see if any of them have that style spring. You may be able to bend the end of the flat spring to get it working and it sure looks like it is screaming "OIL ME!".

The spring looks improvised there should be two cone shaped springs one on each pawl. Here is a photo of a 9/32 drive without the gear installed. The 3/8 is setup the same and uses the design same parts with slight variation. There is also an image of the springs and pawls.

The selector cam on this design is prone to wear and sometimes will not disengage one or both pawls properly. I have a Plomb made CMan of this design with that problem. I will be documenting the repair of the cam as I want to keep the brass selector switch original.
